Coach Motta has just spoken out after being fired. |
The former coach of the "Old Lady" disagreed with the team ending its cooperation with him when they were still competing for a place in the Champions League next season, an important goal that he and the coaching staff set. Motta said that firing the team when the team was only "one step away" from achieving the goal was a hasty and unfair decision.
Coach Motta shared: “I don’t agree when people talk about failure. We had to end (the cooperation - PV) when we were only one point away from being in the group to win a Champions League ticket. This was a three-year project to rebuild the team, but things didn’t go as we imagined.”
Although the team could not achieve the expected results, Motta affirmed that the effort that he and his players put in cannot be denied. "We did not play well in the last two games, but the team is very close to the goal," he added.
Motta also denied that he had any conflicts with the players, especially the dressing room against him. "Whoever says the players opposed me is a liar. I have always had a great relationship with them, both professionally and personally," Motta affirmed. The former Inter Milan player also denied the speculation related to players such as Kenan and Yildiz, saying that these allegations were false.
Coach Motta had to leave Juventus after a series of poor results. |
Regarding his relationship with the board, Motta said: “Giuntoli never said he was ashamed to choose me. We had frank discussions and there was no conflict."
With a straightforward personality and always facing the problem directly, Motta said he is not a coach who makes a big deal or has ostentatious actions on the field. He affirmed that his work is always based on hard work and perseverance.
Now, despite having left Juventus, Motta still leaves his mark with a promising project, albeit one that has yet to be completed.
