Learn with independence
Studying and following Uncle Ho for Ho Cao Tan (village 1, Tra Doc commune, Bac Tra My) means trying hard to learn and actively participating in movements at school and in the locality. From the results of his tireless efforts, Tan was honored to be admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam right before the high school graduation exam and university and college entrance exam in 2024.
Ho Cao Tan was born into a large, poor family in a village along the Tranh River, at the foot of Yen Ngua Mountain. From a young age, Tan showed his determination to overcome adversity.
Doing small jobs at a young age, when he was in primary school, secondary school in the village school, then the commune school, after school, Tan took the opportunity to help his parents with housework such as cooking, washing, planting trees in the fields, herding cattle... From there, Tan acquired the skills to adapt, take care of himself and form the spirit of living for others.
In high school, Tan was qualified to study at the Nuoc Oa Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities (Bac Tra My) and devoted all his heart and soul to studying and participating in the school's general movements.
During all three years of high school, Tan was an excellent student. This school year, Tan achieved the highest score in grade 12 and also won third prize in History at the provincial excellent student competition.

Vice Principal of Nuoc Oa Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities - Ho Thi Hien said that as Deputy Secretary of the School Youth Union and Secretary of the Youth Union for Grade 12, Tan is always the core in extracurricular activities. He studies and understands the cultural identity of ethnic groups in Tra My area such as Co, Xo Dang, Mo Nong...
“After school hours, Tan often spends time explaining difficult exercises to students who do not understand. At the same time, he is always enthusiastic, helping his friends practice singing folk songs, playing drums, gong dancing, etc. to preserve and promote the cultural identity in the school,” said Ms. Hien.
A shining example in school
According to Nguyen Thi Thuy An (a Co ethnic, from Tra Nu commune, a classmate of Tan in class 12/2), during her three years of high school at the school, Tan's dynamism and enthusiasm helped An and many other friends become more aware, make more efforts and focus on their studies.

“Tan is always sociable with all his friends, regardless of their ethnic background; he shares and takes on difficult tasks in studying and living… Thereby helping to improve his friends’ skills and knowledge while creating a friendly and cohesive environment” - Thuy An confided.
Tan thought simply: “My grandparents and parents took Uncle Ho’s name as their surname to remind me to be grateful to the Party and Uncle Ho for helping the Fatherland become independent and free, and to try to study and follow. Being fully taken care of by the Party, the State, and teachers when I went to boarding school, so of course I had to focus on studying and following Uncle Ho to achieve the best results.”
According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh - Principal and Party Secretary of the school, Tan is outstanding and excellent in all aspects of studying and living. He is currently reviewing to prepare for the high school graduation exam and university and college entrance exam in 2024, taking place from June 26 to 29, and has registered his wish to study security. In mid-June, when he turned 18 and right before the exam, Tan was honored to be admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam.
“This is a worthy reward for his pioneering and exemplary efforts in training. Teachers and friends believe that with the special baggage of “being proud to be in the Party’s ranks”, Tan will have more motivation to fulfill his dream at the important threshold of his life in the upcoming exam,” said Mr. Anh.
