On January 9, Di Linh District Police (Lam Dong) said that two students were injured while making firecrackers and had to be hospitalized in critical condition.

Specifically, on the evening of January 8, PGB and D.NH (both 14 years old, studying at a middle school in Hoa Bac commune, Di Linh district) made their own firecrackers. While mixing chemicals to make the firecrackers, they were seriously injured.
As a result, B. and H. suffered dozens of wounds throughout their bodies and were taken by their families to Lam Dong II Hospital (Bao Loc City) for emergency treatment in critical condition.

Patient B. was diagnosed with a perforated trachea, a perforated lung, and a hemothorax. After receiving emergency care, doctors and nurses attempted to perform an endotracheal intubation to allow the patient to breathe on a ventilator. Similarly, patient H. suffered multiple injuries with dozens of wounds, including a closed abdominal wound with a ruptured liver, a perforated intestine, and was in a coma.
After receiving emergency care, at 9:00 p.m. the same day, both patients were transferred to Children's Hospital 2 (HCMC) for continued treatment.
After the incident, Di Linh District authorities were present to examine the scene to serve the investigation and clarify the cause of the incident.
