Golfer Le Anh Duc leads after the first day of competition of the first professional golf tournament applying 3D simulation technology in Vietnam - Golfzon Championship Vietnam 2023.
Le Anh Duc is leading the Golfzon Vietnam Championship 2023
On August 19, the Golfzon Vietnam Championship 2023 officially kicked off at Golfzon Park Grand Plaza, Hanoi.
24 professional athletes and 6 amateur athletes competed on the Champion Course - Phoenix Golf Resort in a 36-hole stroke play format (2 rounds) to compete for the championship worth 120 million VND and to share a prize fund of up to 600 million VND.
For most of the first day, the female golfer Hana Kang (Sùng Thị Xú) was at the top of the rankings. The 29-year-old golfer showed that she was not inferior to her male colleagues in terms of driving distance, and was even more stable.
After the first 9 holes, thanks to 2 birdies and 1 bogey, Hana took the lead with -1 stroke. However, in the next 9 holes, unfortunate bogeys at holes 10, 12, 16 and 17 caused the female golfer to drop to 2nd place with a total score of 75 strokes (+3) with golfer Dao Van Hoan.
The Phoenix Champion Course created many difficulties and challenges for the athletes on the first day of competition and no athlete achieved a negative score.
The leader is professional athlete Le Anh Duc with a result (+2), followed closely by Dao Van Hoan and Hana Kang (Sung Thi Xu) with a result (+3).
Hana's decline created an opportunity for athlete Le Anh Duc to officially take the lead with a result of 74 strokes (+2).
The second and final day of the Golfzon Championship Vietnam 2023 Finals will take place at 3:00 p.m. on August 20.
The awards ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. the same day. The close score gap and challenges at the Phoenix Champion Course promise intense, dramatic competition and chases.
