Netflix service packages increase in price again

Netflix's last price increase for its standard plan was in January 2022. Therefore, according to research firm Jefferies, Netflix could announce price increases for its standard and ad-supported plans in Q4 2024.

Netflix claims that it offers the lowest ad-supported plan compared to its competitors, so it's possible the company is planning a price adjustment.

Previously, in October 2023, Netflix adjusted the prices of its basic and premium packages while keeping its standard package unchanged. According to Jefferies, Netflix may phase out its basic packages. The elimination of basic packages and the impact of new packages will be the driving force to increase average user revenue next year.

In the 2023 price adjustment, the premium package of car service, online movies with Ultra HD resolution that allows users to watch on multiple devices at the same time - increased from 19.99 USD to 22.99 USD/month and the basic package (watching on only one device) increased from 9.99 USD to 11.99 USD/month.

In our country: mobile package (used on 1 device) 70,000 VND/month and limited broadcast quality; basic package (used on 1 device) 180,000 VND/month allows watching movies at 480p resolution; standard package (used on 2 devices at the same time) 220,000 VND/month allows watching movies at 1080p resolution; premium package (4 devices used at the same time) 260,000 VND/month can watch 4K+HDR videos, no ads and can download to watch online, diverse subtitles, exclusive content.

It can be said that Netflix is still a good choice for Vietnamese people's movie and entertainment needs with diverse content and the ability to watch on many devices.
