In the journey of building a new rural district, Nho Quan has promoted the strengths of a land rich in culture and history. These solid steps have made Nho Quan a bright spot in socio-economic development, changing the face of the ancient land in the heart of Ninh Binh , affirming its worthy position in the journey of integration and development.
Sharing about the development orientation of the district, comrade Dang Xuan Nguyen, Secretary of Nho Quan District Party Committee emphasized that we have identified the construction of new rural areas as a key task. The district has focused on strong direction from the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee to communes and towns. Along with that, it is necessary to develop effective economic models, change the structure of crops and livestock in accordance with the potential and advantages of each region and locality.

In fact, Nho Quan has been changing strongly. With a natural area of over 45,083 hectares, the district is blessed with many scenic spots such as Cuc Phuong National Park, Van Trinh Cave, Cuc Phuong hot mineral spring, and a poetic system of rivers, lakes and mountains. These advantages have become the foundation for the development of high-class eco-tourism and resort areas such as Vedana Tourist Area, Trang An Golf Course or Phu Doi Ngang Spiritual Tourist Area.

Chairman of the District People's Committee Hoang Khac Tiep said that Nho Quan district has focused on promoting existing strengths to develop key products such as high-quality rice, fruit trees, and goat meat. We have formed concentrated fruit growing areas, applied high technology and production processes according to VietGAP standards. Typically, Phu Long custard apple and Dong Phong guava products have met OCOP standards, with traceability stamps attached, helping to increase product value and create trust for consumers.
In addition, the model of raising giant freshwater prawns on low-lying rice fields in communes such as Van Phu, Son Thanh, and Thanh Lac is bringing in high income, averaging 400-500 million VND/ha. This is a new direction, suitable for current climate change conditions.
Thach Binh, the largest commune in the district with 800 hectares of forest hills and 600 hectares of rice fields, has made the most of its potential to develop its agricultural economy. According to Mr. Bui Van The, Head of the District's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, people have brought into cultivation crops such as chrysanthemums, medicinal plants and spices. In particular, the combination of forest planting and beekeeping for honey has brought stable income to the people.

Ms. Quach Thi Phuong, a local resident, shared that thanks to support from the government and agricultural extension programs, my family boldly converted part of the rice growing area to growing medicinal plants. Economic efficiency doubled compared to before.
In Quynh Luu commune, taking advantage of low-lying areas that are difficult to cultivate, Mr. Nguyen The Anh has pioneered the cultivation of Japanese lotus for tubers combined with fish farming on an area of 15 hectares of rice fields. Mr. The Anh said that the lotus growing technique is not difficult, just need to pay attention to the variety and care according to the correct process. With an average yield of 10 tons of tubers/ha, income can reach 250 million VND/ha, 5-6 times higher than rice cultivation.
His lotus roots are of high quality and are purchased by traders right in the field for 25,000 VND/kg. In addition, he also raises grass carp and catfish, promising a significant additional source of income.
