The Women's Union of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department disseminates knowledge and skills on fire prevention and fire escape to students. |
Although working and performing the duties of a special force, the women always arrange their time scientifically to carry out assigned tasks and actively participate in women's movements. In particular, the model "Fire Prevention and Fighting Safe House" is deployed to each member and association base and has received positive response and effective implementation to each women's association branch in the wards and people in the city.
The model of “Fire Prevention and Fighting Safe House” integrates the following criteria: The house must have at least 1 to 2 escape routes. The electrical system must be installed in accordance with fire prevention and fighting standards. Arrange and use gas stoves, coal stoves, electric stoves, incense burners, votive paper burners, etc. to ensure safety; have necessary fire fighting equipment. Family members must have knowledge of fire prevention and fighting. From these criteria, at the propaganda sessions, the grassroots women's association members of the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department have provided basic and useful knowledge to people, especially women in the localities.
The Association also coordinated with the Youth Union of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department to implement the program "Propaganda of experience, practice of fire fighting and rescue" for cadres, teachers, students and pupils of schools in the city (at locations such as: Hue University, University of Education, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School, Hue Medical College, Hue College of Tourism, Youth Activity Center...) with more than 7,000 participants; promoted the training program on fire prevention skills, accident and injury prevention and the experience program "I am a firefighter" during the year for 620 students.
In addition to professional work, the Women's Union of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department also promotes volunteer programs and actively organizes activities to help people in difficult circumstances.
Together with women's union members and other organizations, we personally delivered more than 100 gifts of candy and cash to children being treated at the Oncology Department and Pediatric Center of Hue Central Hospital during the recent Tet holiday.
Major Ngo Thi Lan Thanh, President of the Women's Union of the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department, confided: Doing charity work, helping those in difficult circumstances, and reaching out to the community is a regular activity of the association. On each trip, meeting different circumstances, all of us members feel that we need to try harder, to do more. Because the gifts given to each circumstance not only contribute a small material part but also encourage and accompany the children and lives to rise up and overcome adversity.
To promote community activities, in the past year, the association continued to implement the model of "Raising pigs for savings" and "Piggy banks of gratitude", calling on cadres and members to contribute monthly to help members in difficulty and support disadvantaged families in the city. In addition, the association also focused on activities to honor Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and policy families in the area on the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27). Coordinated with the Youth Union branches under the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department to visit, wish a happy new year, and summarize the school year for the foster children under the responsibility of the Youth Union branches.
Thanks to those efforts and contributions, in 2024, the Women's Union of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union.
