According to Mr. Ngo Van Bay, Director of the Da Nang City Cinema and Cultural Center, bringing Dao, Pho and Piano to theaters meets the desire of local people to enjoy this work. "With a long screening schedule and a large number of screenings, hopefully, we can meet the needs of the audience," Mr. Bay said. Photo: Thao Nhi. |
The film will be released to Da Nang audiences from February 25th until March 5th. Every day, "Dao, Pho and Piano" will have 3 screenings at 12:00, 14:30 and 19:30. Photo: Thao Nhi. |
From early morning on February 24, in the Tran Phu street area (in front of Le Do cinema, Hai Chau district, Da Nang), many young people lined up to wait their turn to buy tickets to see the movie Dao, Pho and Piano. Photo: Giang Thanh. |
Although the theater does not open for ticket sales until 9am, young people have been lining up since around 6am. This is a movie that has created a phenomenon on social media in recent days, so there are a lot of young people who want to see it. |
The closer it got to the time the theater opened for ticket sales, the more crowded the crowd became. Young people braved the sun to line up on the sidewalk outside the theater. The line stretched from the intersection with Le Duan Street to the intersection with Phan Dinh Phung Street. Photo: Giang Thanh. |
Even though they had to wait for several hours, the young people patiently lined up for their turn, without any jostling or crowding. Photo: Giang Thanh. |
Many high school students also lined up to buy tickets after finishing school. Because tickets were on sale on the weekend, there were a lot of people buying tickets. Photo: Giang Thanh. |
Young audiences also prepared jackets, hats, umbrellas... to shield themselves from the sun and waited for a long time to get their hands on tickets for the movie Dao, Pho and Piano. Photo: Giang Thanh. |
Having been informed by an acquaintance, Dang Ngoc Thai Duong (26 years old, working at Da Nang airport) arrived at Le Do cinema early to queue. After about 3 hours of queuing, Duong was able to buy 4 tickets to see the movie Dao, Pho and Piano. Photo: Giang Thanh. |
"Although the film is very popular online, I did not expect it to be shown in Da Nang. Knowing the information, I immediately bought tickets to support Vietnamese films, especially films about historical themes like this. I will invite my friends to watch the film together," Duong said. Photo: Giang Thanh. |
Do Thi Bich Diem (a student at Dai Viet College) had been in line since 7am and was finally able to enter the ticket counter at around 9:30am. She also bought 4 tickets and planned to invite her family to go to the movies this weekend. |
"Although queuing is quite tiring, this is also a way for young people to support Vietnamese historical films. In recent days, on Facebook and TikTok, Dao, Pho and Piano have been very popular but have not been widely shown. I feel very lucky that the film is being shown in Da Nang," said Diem. |
According to Mr. Vuong Chi Thanh, Head of the Cinema Department (Cultural Center - Cinema of Da Nang City), although the unit had prepared, it was still very surprised when a large number of audiences, especially young audiences, lined up to buy movie tickets. This is a positive signal for a state-owned cinema like Le Do, as well as for Vietnamese cinema. |
"Although I knew the film would create a fever on social networks, I did not expect the audience to support it so much. It has been a long time since there was a scene of audiences jostling to buy movie tickets at Le Do theater, like the golden age of state-owned theaters. We also fully prepared for ticket sales to go smoothly, so that people in need can enjoy the film to support domestic cinema," said Mr. Thanh. |
The movie "Peach, Pho and Piano" will be shown at Le Do Cinema from February 25 and will last for 28 days to serve the audience. Initially, there will be 3 screenings per day, with tickets priced at 50,000 VND. Tickets will be sold directly at the theater from 9am to 9pm every day, each audience member can buy 4 tickets at a time.
