On the evening of March 29, at Hung Vuong Square, Viet Tri City (Phu Tho), the Organizing Committee of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Anniversary 2025 held the opening ceremony of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Anniversary and the Cultural-Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in the year of At Ty 2025.
At the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huy Ngoc said that within the framework of the Hung Temple Festival and the Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week this year, Phu Tho province organized a series of unique cultural, sports and tourism events. In particular, the art program "Echoes of the Origin" is an important highlight, a bridge connecting the past with the present, the origin with the development of the country.
The program is imbued with national spirit, arousing love for homeland and country, bringing every Vietnamese child back to their sacred roots.
After the opening, the art program "Echoes of the Origin" recreated the image of "The horse hoofs of Saint Giong passed through hundreds of ponds and marshes, Ninety-nine elephants contributed to build the Hung King's ancestral land."
The vibrant and heroic atmosphere expressed through the singing and dancing in the program affirmed Phu Tho as the Ancestral Land, the cradle of Hung King culture.
Over thousands of years of history, Phu Tho today is considered a cultural museum of the Vietnamese people with extremely profound and bold imprints, a rich and diverse system of tangible and intangible cultural heritage associated with the Hung King era.
Along with the system of historical and cultural relics, traditional festivals and unique national intangible cultural heritages, Phu Tho is honored to possess two cultural heritages: Hung King Worship and Phu Tho Xoan Singing, which have been recognized by UNESCO as representative intangible cultural heritages of humanity.
The Hung Kings' Commemoration Anniversary and the Cultural-Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land in the year of At Ty 2025 will be organized by the People's Committee of Phu Tho province from March 29 to April 7 (from March 1 to 10 of the lunar calendar) at the Hung Temple Historical Relic Site, Hung Kings Square, Viet Tri city.
Within the framework of the festival, there are many unique activities, bearing the spirit of the Hung era, inherited and continued in contemporary society. In particular, the ceremony takes place solemnly, respectfully, following the national cultural tradition with the incense offering and flower offering rituals of the delegations and people.
The festival includes many cultural, sports and tourism activities, creating a joyful and healthy atmosphere, imbued with the original cultural identity.
Highlights include: Art program to open the 2025 Culture-Tourism Week of the Ancestral Land; Book Fair of the Ancestral Land; Specialized exhibition introducing documents and artifacts from the Hung King period; Cultural camp and exhibition, promotion, and introduction of local products and specialties; Folk art festival of Phu Tho people; Xoan singing performance of ancient villages; Banh chung wrapping and cooking contest, Banh giay pounding contest; Hung Vuong Cup Volleyball Tournament for strong teams, Marathon "Back to the source...".
