Domestic trade and exports grow together
According to the latest report of the Department of Industry and Trade of Dak Nong province, in the first 9 months of 2024, the market situation of goods in the province was relatively stable, meeting people's shopping needs; the quantity of goods serving the holidays and Tet was abundant, diverse in types, designs and quality assurance, prices fluctuated little, circulation was smooth and there was no speculation, hoarding of goods, unreasonable price increases affecting consumers.
Total retail sales and service revenue in the first 9 months of 2024 is estimated at VND 19,320 billion, reaching 82% of the annual plan (plan of VND 23,553 billion) and increasing by 8.3% over the same period in 2023.
Regarding the import and export situation, export turnover in the first 9 months of 2024 is expected to reach 702.6 million USD, an increase of 0.3% over the same period in 2023.
Of which, coffee and pepper output decreased compared to the same period last year. Although output decreased, due to high prices, coffee export turnover is estimated at 195.7 million USD, up 54.6%, pepper is estimated at 56.1 million USD, up 23.6% compared to the same period last year.
In addition, alumina products have reduced capacity due to difficulties in bauxite mining, compensation and site clearance; Cashew products and other products have decreased due to reduced consumption market and increased transportation costs.
Import turnover is expected to reach 232.2 million USD, down 8.9% over the same period in 2023, reaching 77.4% of the plan (Plan of 300 million USD).

| Strengthening promotion and expanding output for Dak Nong agricultural products |
To promote local trade, Dak Nong has implemented many solutions to support businesses in expanding their markets through trade promotion solutions. At the 21st ASEAN-China Trade Fair (CAEXPO 2024) recently held, Dak Nong had 5 businesses participating in displaying and introducing products at the fair. The participating products are mainly local agricultural products such as: Coffee, cashew, cocoa, macadamia, chocolate, seaweed crackers, nutritional nut bars, passion fruit, durian, avocado, mango, etc.
Among these products of Dak Nong, there are some products that are participating in promotion in the international market for the first time and are of special interest to partners such as: Durian of Nghiep Xuan Import-Export Trading Company Limited; coffee of Bazan Dak Nong Coffee Company Limited and Huong Que Dak Nong Coffee Import-Export Company Limited...
In addition, Dak Nong also promotes the development of commercial infrastructure. Currently, the Dak Mil Trade Center Project in Dak Mil district with a total investment of 645 billion VND and an area of 7,526.5 m2 is continuing to be implemented, expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026. The Gia Nghia market project has been completed and put into operation in phase 1.
Currently, in Dak Nong province, there are 46 markets distributed in 42 communes, wards and towns; 1 Kien Duc Trade Center, Dak R'Lap district, completed phase 1, implementing phase 2; 1 class II supermarket in Gia Nghia city; 01 complex center, Cu Jut district; over 10,000 commercial establishments (grocery stores, convenience stores, etc.); there are 245 gas stations and over 300 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) stores in operation, widely distributed, ensuring adequate and safe supply for production and consumption; meeting the requirements of socio-economic development and national defense and security in the province.
Strive for export turnover to increase by 14.9%; domestic market to increase by 8.6%
In 2024, Dak Nong strives for the total retail sales of goods and service revenue of the whole province to reach 23,553 billion VND, achieving the set plan and increasing by 8.6% compared to 2023. Export turnover reaches 1,012 million USD, achieving the plan and increasing by 14.9% compared to the implementation in 2023. Import turnover reaches 300 million USD, achieving the plan and increasing by 1.7% compared to the implementation in 2023.
To achieve this goal, Dak Nong Department of Industry and Trade has been strongly implementing solutions to advise the Provincial People's Committee to strengthen local trade promotion.
For example, recently, the Standing Vice Chairman of Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee, Le Van Chien, signed and issued a plan to organize a Trade Fair in Dak Nong Province (Vietnam) and Mondulkiri Province (Cambodia).
The fair will take place in the fourth quarter of 2024, with 60 booths and the participation of about 50 businesses from Vietnam and Cambodia.
Products displayed at the fair are mainly agricultural, industrial, handicraft and OCOP products.
The fair includes activities such as: Exhibition, introducing socio-economic achievements; booths promoting local products; nightly music programs...
The fair aims to promote economic and trade cooperation between the two localities, while introducing the economic potential and key products of each side.
The Department of Industry and Trade will also submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and issuance of a Decision amending and supplementing a number of articles of the regulations on building, managing and implementing the Dak Nong Provincial Trade Promotion Program issued together with Decision No. 06/2016/QD-UBND dated March 1, 2016 of the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee; Decision to promulgate the Regulation on coordinating state management in protecting consumer rights in Dak Nong province; organizing Dak Nong Product Festival in the online environment; Workshop on applying digital transformation in trade promotion activities in Dak Nong province...
