Domestic coffee price list updated at 4:30 a.m. on January 31, 2025 |
According to the leader of the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA), the coffee harvest in the Central Highlands is almost complete. Despite the abundant coffee supply, many farmers are still reluctant to sell, leading to low current trading volume. It is forecasted that coffee prices in the Central Highlands will continue to increase following the world price trend.
The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has forecast that, despite price pressures, global coffee demand in the 2024-2025 crop year will exceed 10 million tonnes, up 3.1% from the previous year. Many factors are affecting the market, including adverse weather conditions in Brazil and Vietnam, European anti-deforestation regulations, and rising supply chain costs.
Meanwhile, information from the General Department of Customs said that the European Union (EU) will remain Vietnam's largest coffee export market in 2024. Although the volume of coffee exported to the EU decreased by 12% compared to the same period last year, reaching 529,000 tons (accounting for 39.3% of total exports), the export value increased by 45.6%, reaching 2.15 billion USD, accounting for 38.4% of total export value compared to 2023. The main markets in the EU include Germany (603 million USD), Italy (460 million USD) and Spain (445 million USD).
With the current market price situation, many people expect that coffee prices can reach new levels, such as 140,000 VND/kg, or even higher. According to annual practice, coffee prices usually decrease during the harvest period (November, December) and increase when entering the new year, from January to April, when the world depends heavily on supplies from Vietnam.
