Zinfarm is an agricultural tourism model established from a business association with 9 farming households in Ia Kenh commune, Pleiku city (Gia Lai province). After 3 years of establishment and choosing the path, up to now, Zinfarm has become an effective model in exploiting agriculture for tourism.

The leader of Ia Kenh commune, Pleiku city also said that the model has been and is currently having certain effectiveness, bringing other sources of income to many farming households. In the commune, many farming households have also invested in exploiting agricultural landscapes such as homestays and farmstays to stimulate the development of rural tourism in the locality.

In addition, Gia Lai also takes advantage of tea gardens and hundred-year-old pine trees to develop tourism associated with agriculture. With the characteristics of the locality possessing diverse ethnic minority cultures, rich cuisine and diversity in agricultural production.

Head of the Department of Culture, Information and Sports of Pleiku City, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ha said: “The city has developed a project to develop community tourism associated with agriculture, in which the cultural diversity and customs of ethnic minorities in the area are fully exploited. In addition, the love of cuisine of the J'rai and Ba Nah people is also an advantage for tourism development.

Resolution 06 of Pleiku City Party Committee also clearly stated to develop both international and domestic tourism at the same time. There are solutions to preserve and promote cultural heritages and good traditional values ​​of the nation, protect the environment and nature. Promote local tourism development to solve employment and social security, in the direction of a city "Green Plateau for Health".

The Northern Central Highlands also recorded Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province, as having the strongest potential for agricultural and ecological tourism in the region. In 2024, the entire district will welcome over 1.1 million visitors with revenue of over 420 billion VND. This is an important stepping stone to forming the Mang Den National Ecotourism Area.

In a conference on tourism, speaking about this, Master Pham Thi Thu Suong - Regional Political Academy III said: "Agricultural ecotourism is considered an economic and business development tool to maintain the sustainability of the destination, including environmental protection, as a bridge between natural heritage and tourism. It is considered a driving force that positively impacts local economic development and tends to develop the fastest and brings many advantages such as providing jobs, increasing the employment rate in the region, developing investment opportunities and supplementing foreign exchange".

The Master Plan for Vietnam Tourism Development to 2020 and Vision to 2030 approved by the Prime Minister has identified the Central Highlands as one of seven key tourism regions. It is a region with an important strategic position in terms of economy, politics, national defense and security for the whole country and is also a region with favorable conditions for expanding economic development exchanges. Especially linking tourism development with many localities and regions in the country and internationally.

In recent years, the tourism industry in the Central Highlands has made significant progress. The infrastructure system of the industry has been gradually improved. In addition to public investment, many organizations, businesses, individuals and households have invested in the tourism sector associated with agricultural production. This has significantly contributed to the economic restructuring and socio-economic development of the region.

With 6 years of experience in agricultural tourism, Mr. Dinh A Ngui - a homestay tourism service business in Kbang district, Gia Lai province said: "Overcoming difficulties in traffic infrastructure and facilities, units and businesses are still continuously researching, investing in and linking to build tourism products and services suitable to the needs of each customer market. In which, focusing on the agricultural and ecological sectors to attract and serve international guests."

Currently, the target in 2025 of Gia Lai province is to welcome 1.7 million visitors and Kon Tum welcomes 2.3 million visitors, increasing revenue from the tourism industry equivalent to 1,000 billion VND for each province./.
