Durian is one of Dong Nai's main crops. Therefore, in recent times, the locality has focused on building specialized production areas according to export market standards. In 2023, Dong Nai will export 20,000 tons of durian to the Chinese market. Dong Nai province has more than 11,300 hectares of durian, ranking fourth in the country in terms of area. Of which, the current harvested area is nearly 6,600 hectares, with an estimated output of about 69,000 tons this year.
On June 16, 2023, in Long Khanh city, Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to export the first official durian shipment in 2023 according to the Protocol signed between the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam and the General Department of Customs of China. Author Doan Ngoc An captured the image of the first durian export ceremony of Dong Nai province through the photo series "Dong Nai exports the first 360 tons of official durian to China". The photo series was submitted by the author to the Happy Vietnam Photo and Video Contest, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications.
Dong Nai province leaders hope that businesses will continue to accompany and apply scientific and technological advances in production to improve the quality of agricultural products, fully meet the technical requirements of world markets, and bring durian and other fruits of Dong Nai further to the international market.
Dong Nai provincial government pledges to continue to accompany and promptly resolve difficulties of businesses and farmers so that the province's agricultural products meet the conditions prescribed by importing countries. 
At the ceremony, 20 containers carrying 360 tons of Dona and Ri6 durian were exported to the Chinese market by road through the border gates: Tan Thanh, Huu Nghi and Mong Cai.
