Speaking at the ceremony, President of the Vietnam Football Federation Tran Quoc Tuan emphasized: “Overcoming countless difficulties in the preparation and competition process, winning a place to attend the 2023 World Cup is a historic achievement for Vietnamese football in general and women's football in particular when appearing for the first time at the World Cup. In preparation for the World Cup, the team received professional training in Japan and Germany, and participated in many regional and international tournaments, such as the SEA Games, AFF Cup and the first qualifying round of the 2024 Paris Olympics.”

Attending the send-off ceremony, Coach Mai Duc Chung said: “This is the first time in history that the Vietnamese National Anthem has been played on a world stage. Vietnamese women's football has been waiting for this for a long time. We are grateful for the support of the Party leaders, ministries and branches, and the fans. The whole team promises to unite and compete with determination at the World Cup.”
Expressing her determination before departure, Captain Huynh Nhu shared: “Participating in the World Cup is not only my dream but also the dream of the whole team and fans nationwide. After winning the ticket to the World Cup, the whole team entered a very serious training process because we know that glory goes hand in hand with responsibility. The whole team promises to try together to bring back the best things when performing at the World Cup.”

Tomorrow (July 5), the Vietnam women's team will travel to New Zealand and arrive in Auckland (New Zealand) on the morning of July 6. Here, the Vietnam women's team will be stationed at the 5-star Rydges Hotel, located in the center of Auckland. Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will play 2 friendly matches against the host team and the Spanish women's team before starting the group stage. In Group E, the Vietnam women's team will meet the US, the Netherlands and Portugal respectively.
