On October 12, Mr. Tran Khac Le - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Phu Yen province - said that due to the weather, the department decided to move the final round of the Road to Olympia (taking place on the morning of August 13) from Nghinh Phong Tower Square to Le Trung Kien Stadium (Duy Tan Street, Tuy Hoa City).
According to the previous plan, nearly 5,000 high school students in Phu Yen will participate in cheering at the Nghinh Phong Tower square in the final match of the Road to Olympia 2024, where Tran Trung Kien (student of Le Hong Phong High School, Phu Yen) is one of four "climbers" competing.
However, according to Mr. Le, when moving to Le Trung Kien gymnasium, due to limited seating, the organizing committee prioritized students from Le Hong Phong High School. The remaining schools did not send students to participate.
“From last night to this morning, October 12, Phu Yen province experienced heavy rain and strong winds, affecting the stage. To ensure the safety of fans and spectators, the department decided to move the outdoor venue to the stadium. Although the scale is reduced compared to the original location, the stage and supporting parts will be carried out in the most meticulous manner,” said Mr. Le.

Ms. Tran Thi Le Thuy - principal of Le Hong Phong High School - said that if the event was held at Thap Nghinh Phong Square, 1,740 students of the school would attend.
Because seating at the alternative venue was limited, only about 1,000 students cheered on contestant Tran Trung Kien at Le Trung Kien gymnasium.
The remaining 700 students will cheer at Le Hong Phong High School (Tay Hoa district), where a large LED screen will be installed for students, parents and residents to watch and cheer.
“The cheerleading performances will remain the same. Although the scale is a bit reduced, we will do our best to cheer for Kien,” said Ms. Thuy.
This is the first year that Phu Yen province has had a contestant participate in the final round of the Road to Olympia.
“Mountain climber” Tran Trung Kien of Phu Yen will compete with 3 candidates: Nguyen Quoc Nhat Minh (Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Gia Lai), Vo Quang Phu Duc (Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted, Thua Thien Hue), Nguyen Nguyen Phu (National University of Education High School for the Gifted, Hanoi) at 8:30 a.m. on October 13.
