Chu Se Kampong Thom Rubber Joint Stock Company (under the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group) organized a community connection, meeting and dialogue with local people of Popok and Sakream communes at Santevanaram Pagoda (Kampong Thom province, Kingdom of Cambodia) with the participation of more than 250 local people, on October 19. Attending the program were Ms. Man Ashisa, Coordinator of Oxfam Cambodia; representatives of the authorities of Popok and Sakream communes. At the meeting, Ms. Man Ashisa highly appreciated the community connection implementation of Chu Se Kampong Thom Rubber Joint Stock Company in the past time; at the same time, she hoped that the company would continue to maintain community connection work in the coming years.
Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Party Secretary, General Director of Chu Se Kampong Thom Rubber, said: "Community connection, relationships with local people and authorities are always identified by the company as a prerequisite for successful project implementation". At this community connection meeting, the company informed the local people and residents about some main contents such as: Regarding the use of the company's connection infrastructure, people can use the company's internal traffic roads to travel and trade normally, without having to pay any fees or contributions. Santevanaram Pagoda in the project was built from the main contribution of the company and local people, workers working at the company; it is a place of living and worship not only for workers but also for local people. Currently, the company has built a medical station to provide first aid for workers, if people have a need, they can come to the company's medical station for free examination and first aid. In addition, the company has also invested in building a school, which is a local school, serving the teaching and learning needs of not only workers' children but also children of people around the project area. Regarding security and order, the company also informed people about the implementation of security checks at the two entrances and exits of the project; the security checks ensure that they do not affect people's normal travel needs. In addition, the company is also committed to ensuring security and order in the project as well as the surrounding area. The company also informed people about the upcoming development orientation such as: The company will organize the purchase of wood from people's fields, purchase rubber latex, provide high-quality rubber seedlings, especially the company will organize consulting on the transfer of techniques for planting, caring for, and exploiting rubber for people in need. The company identifies community connection as one of the tasks that the company will carry out during the project implementation period. The company hopes that the cooperative relationship between the company and the locality will continue to develop in a harmonious and mutually beneficial direction. The two sides will continue to coordinate in maintaining security and order, developing the local socio-economy and resolving related issues promptly and effectively. At the meeting, representatives of the local government highly appreciated the company's investment activities; in particular, it has actively contributed to creating jobs for local people, limiting the export of labor to work abroad, and building infrastructure to serve local needs. Thanks to the company's rubber development project, it has created positive effects, spreading strongly in the lives of local people, contributing positively to socio-economic development, changing the face of the locality from a remote and underdeveloped area to an area with vibrant economic activities.
