Can Tho businesses give higher Tet bonuses than last year, the highest level is 4 times higher

Enterprises will give higher bonuses for the 2025 Lunar New Year and the 2024 Lunar New Year than in 2024, with the highest bonus being 300 million VND.

On December 12, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Can Tho City said that 824 enterprises reported on the salary and bonus situation for the 2025 Lunar New Year and the Lunar New Year of At Ty.

The highest expected Lunar New Year bonus is over 151 million VND, belonging to foreign-invested enterprises. This bonus is more than double last year, the highest Lunar New Year bonus in 2024 is 69 million VND.

The lowest expected bonus of VND200,000 (double that of 2024) is also for foreign-invested enterprises. The average bonus for the Lunar New Year in 2025 is nearly VND3.2 million, higher than last year (in 2024 it was VND2.047 million).

Although the economic situation is still difficult, the highest bonus for Tet At Ty of enterprises in Can Tho is 4 times higher than that of Tet Giap Thin.

The highest bonus is expected to be 300 million VND, belonging to private enterprises (the bonus for the Year of the Dragon is nearly 69.3 million VND). The lowest bonus is 200,000 VND (double the Lunar New Year 2025), belonging to private enterprises.

However, the average bonus for Tet At Ty is lower than Tet Giap Thin, the bonus is 5.65 million VND compared to nearly 9 million VND.

According to the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Can Tho, the actual salary paid in 2024 by enterprises with reports is the highest at over 151 million VND/month (foreign-invested enterprises) and the lowest at 4.2 million VND/month (state-owned enterprises).

At the same time, there is no record of salary arrears of enterprises in 2024.

In 2024, businesses organized 279 dialogues and received and resolved 13 individual labor disputes, of which 11 were successfully mediated.
