Continuing the overseas working program to exchange experiences in the operation of elected agencies; strengthen foreign relations, promote trade cooperation; exchange cultural and educational cooperation, from October 15-17, the provincial working delegation led by Comrade Mai Van Tuat, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, visited and worked in the Republic of South Africa.
The delegation included leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors; leaders of Yen Khanh and Nho Quan districts.
South Africa is the only country in the world with 3 capitals. With rich natural resources, great economic potential, developed industry, agriculture, advanced science and technology, South Africa is the most developed country in Africa. South Africa's GDP accounts for 1/3 of the continent's GDP, is the world's largest gold exporter and is the driving force behind the development of 14 southern African countries. The government has introduced tax incentives to encourage new investment in labor-intensive projects, expand basic infrastructure services, restructure and partially privatize state assets. South Africa is famous for its industrial products such as platinum, gold, chrome (world-leading), automobiles, machinery, textiles, iron and steel, chemicals, fertilizers, food, etc.
South Africa is also known as the "rainbow country" because it is a multi-racial country with many rich and unique cultural imprints. There are 11 official languages and 8 unofficial languages in South Africa.
Working with the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry to promote trade, connect provincial enterprises with South African enterprises, Comrade Mai Van Tuat, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council and members of the delegation exchanged information on the socio-economic situation, development perspectives and major orientations for attracting investment and socio-economic development of Ninh Binh. Ninh Binh province has issued many policies to continue transforming the growth model towards green and sustainable. In particular, Ninh Binh province is aiming to attract, focusing on the following areas: Automobile manufacturing and assembly; supporting industries for the automobile manufacturing industry; electronic component manufacturing; clean, high-tech industries; eco-tourism and high-end resort services; training high-quality human resources; building infrastructure for industrial parks, tourist areas, urban areas; developing high-tech agriculture and agricultural product processing. Special priority is given to attracting projects with modern technology, environmentally friendly, efficient use of resources, minerals, land, creating conditions and enhancing attraction and connection with domestic and foreign businesses and investors.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council emphasized: The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a national agency with the purpose of protecting and promoting business interests in South Africa; promoting and mobilizing the government, businesses, and investors to create the necessary conditions for the promotion and development of start-ups, small and medium enterprises as well as the development of existing businesses. Therefore, the delegation had a working session with the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss, promote trade, and seek opportunities to enhance cooperation and development between provincial businesses and South African businesses in areas related to investment activities, legal support, and human resource training for companies.
The President of the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry said: South Africa also has unique cultural characteristics, favorable for developing cultural industries; has many beautiful natural landscapes. But the important thing is how to promote bringing cultural values to tourists, promoting the cultural industry in general development. The representative of the South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry shared more experiences on innovation; shifting from resource exploitation to service development, focusing on science and technology, innovation, having a State investment mechanism for this field instead of resource exploitation. Establishing companies and innovation centers to create momentum for development. Regarding urban planning, it is necessary to determine the development direction of that urban area. Essential infrastructure is managed by State-owned companies; at the same time, private enterprises are encouraged to invest in this field; in the future, private enterprises may be allowed to invest in the energy sector.
Some areas that Vietnam may be interested in investing in South Africa include mining, agricultural processing, infrastructure construction, services, especially tourism services and information technology. The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry has the ability to connect sectors, industries or businesses of the two countries together, can connect provinces together, connect Ninh Binh businesses with South African businesses.
The two sides also discussed and clarified a number of issues related to agricultural production associated with food hygiene and safety, construction, mining associated with environmental protection, and production of garments, footwear, and automobiles.
* With the aim of promoting trade, enhancing cooperation between enterprises of the province and South Africa; cultural and educational exchanges and cooperation with South Africa, the delegation had a working session with the Embassy of Vietnam in the Republic of South Africa.
Comrade Mai Van Tuat, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council informed about the socio-economic situation, development viewpoints and major orientations on investment attraction and socio-economic development of the province. The province has been consistently and effectively implementing the "Green and Sustainable" economic development orientation, taking the preservation and promotion of the value of cultural and historical heritage and the fine traditions of the people of the ancient capital as resources and driving forces for development; prioritizing the development of clean, environmentally friendly industries; organic and circular agricultural production; promoting service development, especially tourism development. The province's economy has formed a number of key industries and products, typically: Automobile manufacturing and assembly industry, electronics, and supporting industries.
Recognizing the importance of tourism development orientation, in recent years, Ninh Binh has focused on investing in building infrastructure combined with developing civilized and modern urban areas; building regional and inter-regional connecting routes to create new space and development space; issuing policies to exploit tourism development from the advantages of natural landscapes, historical relics and intangible cultural heritage. Therefore, the province's tourism has become a bright spot on the Vietnam tourism map, evaluated and voted by many prestigious domestic and international tourism websites as the most attractive, hospitable and favorite tourist destination. Tourism development has brought about efficiency in many aspects, making significant contributions to the GRDP structure of the whole province, initially creating a shift in the local economic structure towards increasing the proportion of the service sector, promoting the socio-economic development of the province; At the same time, it contributes to preserving cultural values, resources and the environment as well as raising awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors and communities.
During his working trip to South Africa, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council sincerely thanked the Vietnamese Embassy in South Africa for their support and assistance in arranging the time to organize a working session with the delegation of Ninh Binh province; hoping that the meeting will create a premise for Ninh Binh province to get closer to South African partners and potential investors to learn about the potential, strengths and investment environment of Ninh Binh province.
