(QBĐT) - On February 22, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) to sign a cooperation agreement on digital transformation (DT) in Quang Binh province for the period 2025-2030.
Attending the event were comrades: Le Ngoc Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Tran Vu Khiem, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee; Hoang Xuan Tan, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Steering Committee for Digital Transformation and representatives of relevant departments, branches, units and localities.
On the side of Viettel Group, there was Major General Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of the Group, and members of the working delegation.
According to the agreement, in the period of 2025-2030, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province will consider creating favorable conditions and Viettel Group will commit to using the best resources (within the permitted scope of conditions) to introduce, support and cooperate to promote the construction of digital infrastructure, digital government, digital economy and digital society.
Specifically, the two sides will cooperate to deploy advanced digital solutions, platforms, and technologies, suitable for the province's e-Government architecture; digital solutions/platforms serving digital transformation in the Party bloc and specific fields.
At the same time, coordinate and deploy the construction of specialized databases, interconnect and share with the province's shared database; smart operation centers; smart tourism, smart healthcare, smart education platforms; solutions to support cashless payments; accelerate the progress of deploying mobile coverage across the entire border.
The two sides will also coordinate research, planning, and support land funds to build a transit center for goods, logistics, and e-commerce at Cha Lo border gate and Hon La seaport; implement training programs to raise awareness of digital transformation... Viettel Group will research and build a large data center in Quang Binh.
At the conference, Major General Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group, shared about the current strengths of the group and wished to continue cooperating with the province, supporting each other to promote socio-economic development, especially at present, when the requirements for breakthroughs in science and technology (S&T), innovation (I&C) and digital transformation are very urgent.
Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the provincial leaders, Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang highly appreciated Viettel's contributions in developing telecommunications and information technology infrastructure, especially digital transformation solutions in the locality.
He affirmed: Breakthroughs in the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation are considered the driving force of the driving force, have great significance, impact and spread to the socio-economic development process as well as other fields and the province pays great attention to this issue.
In recent years, implementing the policies of the Party and Government, Quang Binh has made important strides in the process of industrialization and modernization.
The province has issued and deployed a series of strategic directives such as Resolution No. 07 on digital transformation in Quang Binh province, Action Program No. 38 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation. Telecommunications and information technology infrastructure continues to be invested in; a number of online public services are deployed; digitalization applications in the fields of health, education and tourism have initially had positive results.
However, compared to development requirements, the province's digital transformation progress is still slow, unsynchronized and has not met expectations.
The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that today's signing ceremony is an important foundation in the cooperative relationship between the province and Viettel Group, aiming to realize the Quang Binh Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
Affirming that digital transformation is not only a trend, but also a foundation to help the province develop quickly and sustainably, the Provincial Party Secretary expressed his wish for the group's support and assistance. In particular, focusing on the following contents: Promoting digital transformation in the Party of Quang Binh province; accelerating the development of synchronous and modern digital infrastructure; improving online public services, building a real digital government; training and developing digital human resources; promoting digital transformation in enterprises and developing the digital economy; applying digital technology in key areas such as: Health, education, tourism, agriculture; cooperating to build a smart operating center of the province.
Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang affirmed: The province is committed to creating the most favorable conditions for Viettel to implement projects and cooperation programs; promoting administrative reform, supporting quick procedures, and allocating resources to ensure the digital transformation process is carried out effectively.
At the conference, representatives of the provincial People's Committee and Viettel Group signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement between the Quang Binh Provincial People's Committee and Viettel Group.
