(QBĐT) - Implementing Notice No. 2516/TB-UBND, dated December 30, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman on assigning agencies, units, and enterprises to help ethnic minority villages, on February 19, the Bank for Social Policies - Quang Binh Branch had a working session with Ploang village, Truong Son commune (Quang Ninh).

At the meeting, representatives of Truong Son commune leaders and the District Social Policy Bank Transaction Office reported on the results of social policy credit activities in Truong Son commune and Ploang village.
Specifically, in Truong Son commune, the loan turnover from the beginning of the year until now has reached 1,285 million VND, with 21 loans from poor households and other policy beneficiaries. In Ploang village alone, there are currently 36 households with 152 people (including 27 poor households, 1 near-poor household and 8 households that have escaped poverty), 100% of whom are Bru-Van Kieu ethnic people.

In recent times, Ploang villagers have accessed preferential credit loans to develop production and gradually improve their lives and escape poverty. Currently, Ploang village has outstanding loans from 4 policy credit programs with a total outstanding loan balance of VND 852 million with 22 customers still in debt.
In particular, households that borrow capital are conscious of paying interest and debt on time, avoiding overdue debt and also participating in savings through savings and loan groups.

In addition to the achieved results, the implementation of policy credit capital in Ploang village still faces difficulties and limitations such as: Loan capital under the program for ethnic minority and mountainous areas under Decree No. 28/ND-CP has not yet met the local needs; currently, Ploang village has 4 households in need of loans for the housing construction program under Decree No. 28/2022/ND-CP but the capital source has not yet met the needs...

Speaking at the meeting, the leaders of the VBSP - Quang Binh Branch agreed to support and assist Ploang village; at the same time, find solutions and build a roadmap to remove difficulties and obstacles in the coming time. Thereby, helping the locality successfully achieve the goals of socio-economic development and sustainable poverty reduction.
On this occasion, the People's Credit Fund - Quang Binh Branch visited and presented 40 gifts to students at Ploang village school.
