On the morning of November 13, a delegation from the Academy of Journalism and Communication visited and worked with Pasaxon Newspaper (People's Newspaper) and Vientiane Times Newspaper of the Lao PDR. Welcoming the delegation were Mr. Van Xay Ta Vinh Nhan, Deputy Head of the Central Party Propaganda Department, Editor-in-Chief of Pasaxon Newspaper, along with Deputy Editors-in-Chief, and heads of departments and sections of the newspaper.

Mr. Van Xay Ta Vinh Nhan also introduced the history of formation and development of Pasaxon newspaper, the predecessor of Lao Doc Lap newspaper, founded on August 13, 1950. Currently, Pasaxon newspaper publishes 1,200 copies per day nationwide, and maintains operations on its website and Facebook page. In 2023, the newspaper's website attracted nearly 18,000 visits, and its Facebook page reached more than 835,900 followers. He said that many of the current staff and leaders of the editorial office had studied at the Academy of Journalism and Communication. Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Duc Toan expressed his sincere thanks for the warm welcome of Lao People's Newspaper. He emphasized that Pasaxon newspaper has long been a close partner of the Academy. The two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2012. Based on the Memorandum of Understanding, the Academy has provided training and development for a number of staff, reporters and editors for the Newspaper. Although the cooperation agreement was interrupted due to some objective reasons, the affection and connection between the two sides have always been maintained.Dr. Nguyen Duc Toan, Deputy Director of the Academy, spoke at the meeting.
Dr. Nguyen Duc Toan also shared that the Academy is very happy to welcome students from many Lao press agencies, including Pasaxon newspaper, to participate in annual press management training courses. This shows that the cooperation between the two sides is still maintained and developed, despite the difficulties. He hopes that, after this visit, the two sides will continue to accompany each other, share valuable experiences and expand practical cooperation activities, contributing to the common development of the press of the two countries.Overview of the working session at Vientiane Times Newspaper
At the meeting, Mr. Thonglo Duongsavanh introduced the history, organizational structure and activities of Vientiane Times. He expressed his gratitude to the Academy of Journalism and Communication for organizing training courses on press management for press managers of Lao PDR, including Vientiane Times.
