Dai Phung Communal House is one of the largest ancient communal houses in Vietnam, built in the second half of the 17th century. The communal house worships the Holy Spirit Lich Hoa Quang Thuong Dang Than and General Vu Hung, who had the merit of defeating the enemy under the Tran Dynasty in the 14th century.

The relic site is located in the center of Dai Phung village, on a campus of 2,542m². The communal house architecture consists of three main items: the front hall, the main worship hall and the back hall. On the right gable is an ancient well, with a source of clear laterite water all year round, creating a highlight for the relic landscape.

The special feature of Dai Phung communal house is the architectural system made entirely of original xoan wood. The large, low roof is suitable for the local climate and landscape, demonstrating the subtle creativity of the indigenous people in adapting to the natural environment.

The most outstanding value of Dai Phung communal house lies in the system of architectural decoration and sculpture bearing the mark of 17th century art. With more than 1,000 sophisticated carvings, the communal house is considered a masterpiece of Vietnamese folk sculpture. The plastic art here has reached a rare level of mastery, not only reflecting contemporary social life but also demonstrating the talent of ancient artisans.

Many sculptures at the communal house are carved and uncarved with vivid layouts, expressed through unique themes such as "Returning home to pay respect to ancestors", "Dragon's tomb", "Fairy bathing in lotus pond", "Wrestling"... Each carved line is delicate, imbued with the style of folk art.

In 2010, Dai Phung communal house was renovated and embellished to preserve its original architectural value. Some degraded xoan wooden pillars were replaced with ironwood, ensuring the durability of the structure. Rare sculptures were preserved. Also in 2010, Dai Phung communal house was given the sign "Commemorative work for the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi".
