'Falling point' attracting investment to Binh Dinh

At the press conference on April 4 on the socio-economic development situation in the first quarter of 2025, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province said that the gross local product (GRDP) in the quarter is estimated to increase by 7.51% over the same period.

Of which: agriculture, forestry and fishery increased by 3.43%; industry and construction increased by 10.96% (industry increased by 10.70%; construction increased by 11.75%); services increased by 7.84%; product taxes minus product subsidies increased by 2.93%.

Cultural and social activities continued to have positive changes; social security was ensured; national defense and security were maintained.

Total state budget revenue in the first quarter was VND 4,274 billion, reaching 24.5% of the year's estimate, up 48.4% over the same period in 2024.

In particular, investment promotion and attraction activities in the first months of 2025 continued to be promoted. In March, Binh Dinh province organized an investment promotion conference attracting hundreds of domestic and foreign investors to explore investment opportunities.

Thereby, memorandums of understanding, policy decisions and investment registration certificates were granted to 62 projects with a total registered capital of more than VND 231,000 billion.

Since the beginning of the year, Binh Dinh province has attracted 31 new investment projects with a total registered capital of more than VND12,195 billion, including 27 domestic investment projects and 4 FDI projects.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of projects increased by 138.5%; total registered capital increased by 502.6%. In addition, 29 projects were adjusted with total investment capital increased by VND 2,213 billion.

Some large-scale projects have been approved such as: Phu My Industrial Park Infrastructure Construction and Business Investment Project - Phase 1, with a total registered investment capital of VND 4,569 billion; Hoa Sen Nhon Hoi - Binh Dinh Steel Factory Expansion Investment Project with a total registered investment capital of VND 2,333 billion...

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai - Director of the Department of Finance of Binh Dinh province, answered questions from reporters.

In the first quarter, business registration certificates were granted to 309 new enterprises with a total registered capital of VND 3,378 billion (an increase of 11.2% in the number of enterprises and an increase of 89.3% in registered capital); business registration certificates were granted to 211 dependent units (branches, representative offices, business locations).

According to Mr. Lam Hai Giang - Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, the above results show the proactiveness and determination of the provincial government and the efforts of the business community and people in implementing socio-economic development goals right from the first months of 2025.

“With a series of newly registered projects, investment capital has grown dramatically, clearly showing the province's 'drop point' in attracting investment,” the Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee emphasized.

In the second quarter of 2025, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province set out 11 key tasks and solutions for socio-economic development and requested all levels, sectors and localities in the province to closely monitor the actual situation, promptly handle arising issues; innovate management and operation methods with specific and practical actions each month, make efforts to overcome difficulties, strive to complete the tasks of the second quarter and the whole year according to the plan set by the province.

In particular, the important task is to focus on directing the stabilization of the organization, functions, tasks, and powers of agencies and units according to the new apparatus, ensuring compliance with the Central's directive spirit: "streamlined - compact - strong - efficient - effective - efficient".
