57 free trips transporting more than 325 tons of goods
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga, Editor-in-Chief of Giao Thong Newspaper, said that on September 11, Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang sent a letter calling on officials, employees, and workers in the entire industry to promote the spirit of solidarity, "mutual love", and join hands with the people of the whole country to support compatriots affected by storm No. 3.
Responding to the Minister's call, Giao thong Newspaper and Vietnam Automobile Transport Association coordinated to organize a free transportation of relief goods for people affected by storms and floods.

Faced with the urgent situation of our people, relief work needs to be done quickly, many people and organizations have launched a campaign to donate goods and cash but have not found means of transportation. In order to help our people as quickly and effectively as possible, the program's Organizing Committee connected with transportation businesses and received a response beyond expectations.
On September 12, the editorial board of Giao thong Newspaper and the leaders of the Vietnam Automobile Transport Association signed a letter calling on businesses, organizations and individuals to participate in the free transportation of relief goods and to donate to help people in flood-affected areas.
Regarding transportation, the Organizing Committee established a Vehicle and Goods Coordination Board including representatives of Giao Thong Newspaper, Automobile Transport Association, Hanoi Taxi Association and representatives of transportation businesses with vehicles participating in the program.
Although the roads are still isolated and there are many landslides, regardless of the danger, the zero-dong vehicles of the transport companies participating in the program work day and night to find ways to deliver goods to the centers of districts and communes in localities that are suffering damage after storm No. 3.
In particular, businesses participating in the program mobilized oversized and overweight vehicles to transport international relief goods from Noi Bai to the northern provinces.

In the 15 days since the bridge was established, the hotline for receiving information about the transportation bridge has never stopped working. The program's coordination board has received hundreds of calls requesting free support for vehicles to transport relief goods. The arrangement of receiving goods, dispatching vehicles and returning goods at the destination is extremely complicated but has been implemented scientifically and effectively. All trips have gone and arrived safely.
As a result, with the spirit of dedication to the community, 12 transport enterprises participating in the transport bridge have made 57 free trips carrying 325.5 tons of goods to people affected by storm No. 3 in 9 provinces and cities: Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Bac Can, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, Ha Nam, Chuong My (Hanoi).
Among them are shipments connecting from the South and the West, traveling thousands of kilometers to the northern mountainous provinces. Among them are relief goods from many units in the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Fatherland Front, the Central Youth Union, the Women's Union, press agencies... from many points to people in difficulty.

The first free relief transportation bridge was highly appreciated by the society. More than 30 newspapers reported on the transportation bridge and hundreds of calls and messages were sent to thank the program for its help.
In addition to setting up a bridge to transport relief goods for free, Giao thong Newspaper and the Vietnam Automobile Transport Association directly mobilized, collected donations and organized volunteer working groups to promptly deliver gifts, contribute money to build houses, and rebuild schools for people in Cao Bang, Yen Bai, Thai Nguyen, Ha Nam, and Chuong My (Hanoi). The value of the gifts and cash to support people sent by readers and benefactors through Giao thong Newspaper and the Vietnam Automobile Transport Association alone amounted to 2 billion VND.
In the program's activities, Giao Thong Newspaper, Vietnam Automobile Transport Association, Delta International Joint Stock Company, Alphat Vietnam Co., Ltd., Minh Thanh Phat Trading and Service Co., Ltd. (Sao Viet Bus Company), Vietnam XE Co., Ltd. are the units that have made outstanding achievements in organizing, participating in fundraising, supporting relief efforts for people to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 and floods, creating a strong spread in the community and society.

On the side of Giao thong Newspaper, during the storm and flood, the travel conditions were extremely dangerous. The editorial board of Giao thong Newspaper developed an operational plan and deployed it to each professional department to ensure quick and timely reporting, ensure operational safety, and limit risks when reporters were at the scene. The news production line operated 24/7, the Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editor-in-Chief were on duty continuously with the editorial secretaries, Head of the News Department, Resident Department, Traffic Department and reporters at hot spots to update the storm and flood situation day and night.

In addition to reporting according to plan, providing information on road conditions, storm and flood damage, reporters and editors of the Newspaper are also responsible for being the focal points for the bridge transportation and relief program. This ensures that relief goods reach their intended destination, gaining the trust of benefactors and readers in the effectiveness of the program.
The spirit of dedication, dedication, disregard for danger, and creativity in the way of providing relief, establishing a coordination center to receive goods, and organizing free trucks to transport relief goods are factors that have helped the Free Relief Transport Bridge program, which was first organized, to create a buzz and bring practical results.
Come to people with good heart
Sharing behind-the-scenes information about the program, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga said that with the desire to support people as quickly as possible while promoting the role of the transport sector, Giao thong Newspaper has coordinated with the Vietnam Automobile Transport Association to establish a free transport bridge, bringing relief goods from individuals and organizations to people.

This is the first time the program has been implemented, and it is also in the context of difficulties in human resources for coordination in Hanoi as well as in the localities with goods and the localities that have suffered damage. Giao thong Newspaper reporters have to focus on reporting on storms, floods, damage, and rescue work; and also connect so that the shipments can reach the people. Therefore, in the first one or two days, there will inevitably be problems and difficulties in coordinating vehicles and goods.
But all was overcome because the program quickly received positive support from transportation businesses, businesses, and individuals who donated goods and cash...

"This transport bridge would not be able to go through the night, through storms and floods, nor could it bring hundreds of tons of goods to people in flood-hit areas without the cooperation of businesses, units and individuals. And it would not be possible without the trust of readers, individuals and other businesses who supported cash and goods worth nearly 2 billion VND.
Thanks to that, some schools are being renovated, some houses are being built, many families have new blankets, new clothes, solar lights...
When we give with all our hearts, we will no longer value the value of material support gifts," Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga shared and expressed her gratitude for the precious hearts and active participation of businesses, units and individuals.
Mr. Tran Duc Nghia, General Director of Delta International Joint Stock Company, thanked the transport company for allowing the unit to participate in this meaningful charity program (Photo: Ta Hai).
Representing the transport companies participating in the transport bridge, Mr. Tran Duc Nghia, General Director of Delta International Joint Stock Company, shared that as soon as they received the open letter about the program, the unit did not calculate and immediately participated. During peak times, they send 7 vehicles, during low times, they send 5 vehicles, all of which have the best technical standards.
But when the trips reach the northern provinces, there are inevitably concerns. Because these are unfamiliar routes for drivers, and in rainy and flood-prone weather, the roads are bad, so there will certainly be risks.
"We are fortunate to have a group of very active drivers, always ready to drive the transport trucks, enthusiastic about charity work. The trucks all arrive safely, and the relief goods reach the people in time. Thank you to the transport truck for letting us participate in this meaningful charity program," said Mr. Tran Duc Nghia.
It is known that Delta International Joint Stock Company has made 24 trips, with a total transport weight of 130.5 tons, including 8 trips to Lao Cai, 7 trips to Cao Bang and some other provinces such as Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Bac Giang.
Mr. Le Bao Anh, General Director of Construction Corporation No. 1 (CC1) thanked the program for connecting the unit to support people quickly and practically (Photo: Ta Hai).
Mr. Le Bao Anh, General Director of Construction Corporation No. 1 (CC1), said that the unit has launched a campaign for employees to donate one day's salary, along with the unit's financial resources. However, with the desire to help the people affected by storm No. 3 reach them in the most practical way, the corporation contacted Giao Thong Newspaper. Through the connection of Giao Thong Newspaper, the unit went to the place to support people in Cao Bang province, giving cash and supporting house building... with a total value of nearly 1 billion VND.
"As a manufacturing and trading enterprise, we consider community responsibility to be an important task. Thank you Giao Thong Newspaper and the program for supporting us in carrying out this meaningful activity," said Mr. Le Bao Anh.
Recognizing and appreciating the program, Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Danh Huy praised Giao thong Newspaper and Vietnam Automobile Transport Association for establishing a meaningful and practical transportation bridge, and transport enterprises for accompanying and joining hands, promoting the fine tradition of "helping each other" of the nation. Thereby, the most essential relief items and goods were transported as soon as possible to those in need.
"The trips into the flood zone are full of risks, but the units still enthusiastically participate. This is participation with all their heart and soul, that is the most important thing. It is not advertising the image of Giao Thong Newspaper, the Association or the business itself, so those gestures are even more meaningful," Deputy Minister Nguyen Danh Huy emphasized.

The Deputy Minister also emphasized that the transport sector has many pillars, of which the two basic pillars are infrastructure and transport. Developing transport infrastructure is to serve transport; developing transport will reduce costs for goods and the economy. The Deputy Minister hopes that associations and transport enterprises will contribute ideas to make State management of transport more effective.
On the occasion of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs' Day (October 13), the Deputy Minister wished transport and traffic enterprises sustainable development, contributing to the development of Vietnam's transport industry.
In recognition of the efforts and positive contributions to the community of the units and individuals participating in the program, the Minister of Transport awarded Certificates of Merit to 6 units: Giao thong Newspaper, Vietnam Automobile Transport Association, Delta International Joint Stock Company, Alphat Vietnam Company Limited, Minh Thanh Phat Trading and Service Company Limited (Sao Viet Bus Company), Vietnam XE Company Limited; Giao thong Newspaper and Vietnam Automobile Transport Association awarded Certificates of Merit to 21 groups and individuals.
