The project is expected to be implemented in two years (2024 and 2025), using provincial budget capital in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025.

The scale of investment in compensation and site clearance is over 105 hectares, located in two wards (Ward 6 and Tan Thanh Ward, Ca Mau City).

Through initial review by the functional sector of Ca Mau province, when implementing the project, there will be 5 organizations and about 742 households and individuals affected.

According to the Department of Planning and Investment, from now until the end of 2024, the province will carry out investment procedures, measure and count land and assets attached to land.

Along with that, make a plan for compensation, resettlement support, and hand over part of the site to the construction unit to implement the project.

By 2025, the province will continue to carry out compensation and resettlement support, striving to hand over the remaining construction site in early 2025 to Vietnam Airports Corporation - JSC (ACV).

Therefore, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province directed the competent authorities to fully implement the compensation, support and resettlement policies for organizations and individuals affected by the planning area of Ca Mau Airport, and relocate affected households out of the project area to stable and safe places for residence and production.

Along with that, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of the province will advise and propose to the Provincial People's Committee on a plan to clear the land in a way that creates favorable conditions for affected households to have a better life.

According to the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, in recent times, the supply of sand and stone has been greatly affecting the investment costs and construction progress of investment and construction projects in Ca Mau province.

Particularly, the project to expand and upgrade Ca Mau Airport requires about 1.5 million m3 of sand for filling the foundation, and 300,000 m3 of medium-grain sand for other items. The time of use is concentrated in the first months of 2025.

According to the 2021-2030 planning period, the apron south of the runway will accommodate about four parking positions. By 2050, the planning of the apron north will be in sync with the new civil aviation area, accommodating about 10 parking positions and have room for expansion when needed.

Passenger terminal, period 2021-2030, expand the existing passenger terminal to meet the capacity of about 1 million passengers/year. Vision to 2050, plan a new passenger terminal in the area north of the runway, capacity of about 3 million passengers/year; reserve land for development when needed.

In the period 2021-2030, the cargo warehouse is planned to the west of the passenger terminal, near the existing aircraft parking lot, with a capacity of about 1,000 tons of cargo/year. With a vision to 2050, the cargo warehouse is planned to the east of the new passenger terminal, with a capacity of about 3,000 tons of cargo/year.
