Daniil Medvedev shows impressive form at Vienna Open

Facing defending champion and number one seed Daniil Medvedev, Arthur Fils played impressively in the first 6 games but then he lost a break-point and Daniil Medvedev won 6-4.

In the second set, Medvedev showed his superiority over Arthur Fils. The French player could no longer maintain the same concentration as at the beginning of the match, and helplessly watched Medvedev gain 2 more break-points and Arthur Fils lost with a score of 2-6.

Winning 2-0 overall (score of sets: 6-4, 6-2), Medvedev had a smooth start in his journey to defend his Vienna Open title. Entering the second round, the Russian player will face Grigor Dimitrov.
