Defeating France, U17 Germany won the 2023 U17 World Cup

After defeating the number one candidate U17 Argentina in the semi-final after a penalty shootout, U17 Germany entered the final match of the U17 World Cup 2023 against U17 France on the evening of December 2 with high confidence. In the final of the U17 Euro 2023 in June, U17 Germany defeated this opponent to win the championship.

Germany U17 took the lead in the 29th minute thanks to a penalty goal from Paris Brunner. This was also the score in the first 45 minutes.

The second half was exciting and dramatic. In the 51st minute, Noah Darvich raised the score to 2-0 for U17 Germany. Just 2 minutes later, U17 France reduced the gap to 1-2 thanks to striker Saimon Bouabre.

Germany U17 had to play with one less player after Winners Osawe received a second yellow card. Taking advantage of the extra player, in the 85th minute, France U17 equalized 2-2 thanks to a goal by Mathis Amougou.

The two teams entered extra time but the score after 120 minutes was still 2-2 and had to go into a penalty shootout. In the nerve-wracking "shootout", U17 Germany was the team that won with a final score of 4-3. U17 France had 3 players miss their shots, and goalkeeper Konstantin Heide of U17 Germany successfully blocked them twice.

In the third-place match of the 2023 U17 World Cup yesterday (December 1), U17 Argentina unexpectedly lost to U17 Mali with a score of 0-3.
