The ceremony of offering flowers and incense to commemorate the President of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam Huynh Thuc Khang is to remember and pay tribute to his great contributions to the cause of national liberation. At the same time, it promotes and educates the tradition of studiousness and patriotism for today's and future generations.
Mr. Huynh Thuc Khang was born on October 1, 1876, in Thanh Binh village, Tien Giang Thuong commune, Ha Dong district, Thang Binh prefecture (now Tien Canh commune, Tien Phuoc district, Quang Nam province).
He was famous for his intelligence, good study and high scores in exams. Inheriting the nation's patriotic tradition, Mr. Huynh did not become an official but instead devoted himself to patriotic activities that took place vigorously in the early years of the 20th century. After the success of the August Revolution, President Ho Chi Minh, appreciating Mr. Huynh's talent and virtue, invited him to join the cabinet of the Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, holding the position of Minister of the Interior.
