Workers of Tuyen Quang Electricity Company check the operation of transformer stations before the storm season.

Tuyen Quang is a province with complex terrain. During the rainy and stormy season, the terrain can be divided by a dense system of rivers and streams, with many hills and mountains at high risk of landslides, making it difficult to manage and operate the power system safely and continuously. Tuyen Quang Power Company is currently managing and operating 290.39 km of 110kV power lines supplying power to 7 transformer stations/13 110kV transformers with a total installed capacity of 476 MVA. Of which, there are 1,607 substations/1,612 distribution transformers with an installed capacity of 314,901 kVA, ensuring power supply to over 280,000 customers.

Accordingly, to proactively respond to and handle natural disasters before and during the rainy and stormy season, the Company has established a Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue (PCTT&TKCN) Command Committee headed by the Company Director. At its affiliated units, a PCTT&TKCN Subcommittee has been established, a PCTT&TKCN Shock Team has been established to fully prepare materials, vehicles, food and necessities, and establish a method of operating the unit's power system during the rainy and stormy season.

During the year, the Company has developed a plan and organized a PCTT & TKCN drill (3-in-1 drill) with hypothetical incident situations set close to reality that may occur when natural disasters, storms and floods occur in the area under its management, thereby proposing quick handling plans when incidents occur, ensuring the fastest and safest restoration of power supply.

Workers of Tuyen Quang Electricity Company propagate to people to use electricity safely during the rainy and stormy season.

Mr. Nguyen Phu Phuong, Deputy Director of Tuyen Quang Power Company said: The company has proactively coordinated with local authorities to prepare shock forces, ready to respond when natural disasters and floods occur to ensure the restoration of power supply, especially prioritizing the restoration of power supply to PCTT & TKCN command agencies at all levels, medical facilities, telecommunications, television, and pumping facilities when flooding occurs.

For the affiliated Power Companies, conduct a general inspection, review and reinforce locations at risk of landslides and safety corridor violations to promptly detect and handle early risks of causing unsafety affecting the power grid. In particular, Tuyen Quang Power Company strengthens propaganda work on ensuring the safety corridor of the power grid in many diverse forms such as: Propaganda on mass media, on social networks, direct propaganda, distributing leaflets to people... Thereby, contributing to building awareness among customers on safe electricity use and protecting the safety of power grid works, preventing electrical accidents among the people.

Currently, storm Yagi, storm number 3 is threatening and can cause heavy rain, strong winds, high risk of flooding and landslides in the province. Tuyen Quang Electricity Company, with careful preparation in terms of plans, human resources and material resources, along with the efforts of all staff, is ready to ensure safe and stable electricity supply to serve the economic and social development of the people in the province.
