The Vietnamese women's volleyball team has arrived in France. The team was welcomed at the airport by representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in France and visited the Embassy. After offering incense at the altar of Uncle Ho, the team had an exchange with the Vietnamese community in France.
During the reception of the team at the Embassy, Ambassador, Head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to UNESCO (France) Ms. Le Thi Hong Van sent her best wishes to the team and presented gifts to coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team.
On behalf of the team, General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, Mr. Le Tri Truong and captain Thanh Thuy sent their thanks for the attention and reception of the Vietnamese Embassy in France, and expressed their determination to play well in the match against the French women's volleyball team in the quarterfinals of the FIVB Challenger Cup 2023.
The 2023 FIVB Challenger Cup will feature eight teams, including hosts France, Vietnam, Colombia, Kenya, Sweden, Ukraine, Mexico and Croatia. Vietnam is ranked the lowest (47th in the world). The winner will secure the sole spot to play in the 2024 Volleyball Nations League.
Preparing for the FIVB Challenger Cup 2023, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team kept the same squad after winning the AVC Challenge Cup (14 athletes). The team had 1 month to train, mentally and physically preparing for the historic tournament in France.
According to the match schedule, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will meet host France at 10:00 p.m. on July 27 (Vietnam time).
