Multiple relay mechanisms
Project 939 was implemented from June 30, 2017. Up to now, with the support and assistance of district women's unions at all levels, the creative startup movement in Dai Loc has achieved certain results.
Over the past 7 years, Dai Loc district has had 22 quality ideas submitted to the provincial competition; 8 individuals won prizes (5 third prizes, 3 consolation prizes).
Some projects and startup ideas were highly appreciated and won awards at the central level. Many products were recognized as OCOP products, typical industrial and rural products at the district level.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hiep - President of Dai Loc District Women's Union shared that in the period of 2018 - 2024, the District Women's Union mobilized resources to support and help women start businesses.
Specifically, 25 pink books for start-ups and livelihoods were awarded to more than 210 disadvantaged women members who wanted to open trading and business establishments and develop production with a total amount of more than 3 billion VND. The association also supported the establishment of 3 cooperatives owned by women, including Hong Van Agricultural Product Development Cooperative, Vu Gia Cooperative and Ho Loc Cooperative.
The Dai Loc District Creative Women's Startup Club was established in 2022 with 18 members, many of whose products have been widely promoted in the market...
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hiep said: “The club always maintains regular activities, events, organizes meetings, and exchanges of startup experiences. In particular, it has organized livestream sales to exchange with the Tam Ky City Women's Startup Club.
Prepare facilities to conduct regular live streams to sell products produced by Club members. Among the products of Club members, there are 7 OCOP products; 6 Club members have participated in creative idea competitions from the Central to the local level and won high prizes...”.
Mr. Ho Ngoc Man - Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee said that Dai Loc is a locality that has established startup support groups early, and is also a locality that has held an early congress to establish the District-level Creative Startup Association.
“In the coming time, the district will continue to guide and create conditions for women to participate in fairs, connect to consume OCOP products, and women's startup products.
At the same time, grasp well the member support policy, contributing to bringing the State's mechanisms and policies into life. It can be mentioned that Resolution No. 17 on Building and developing value chains; Resolution No. 35 of the Provincial People's Council on developing garden economy - farm economy..." - Mr. Man shared.
The "flowers" of startups
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phi Anh (born in 1983) is an excellent example of a female entrepreneur, currently the owner of a purple oyster mushroom production facility in Dai Lanh commune. Having graduated from a university of economics, Ms. Anh was determined to return to her hometown to start a business.
With the knowledge she learned and her passion for research, in 2020, Ms. Anh invested in building facilities, greenhouses and importing raw materials to produce purple oyster mushrooms. The product is currently being introduced and consumed at markets, agencies and restaurants in and outside the province.
In 2022, Ms. Anh was instructed to register for the district-level "Creative Women's Startup Ideas" contest and won second prize. Ms. Anh's facility provides regular jobs for 4 workers. Ms. Phi Anh also made many contributions to local association activities and was recognized by the District Women's Union as an outstanding woman at the district level in 2022.
In 2019, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Van received 3 million VND from the Women's Union of Dai Loc district, which encouraged and helped her become more confident in her entrepreneurial journey. From the Hong Van grapefruit shampoo product, Ms. Van also made efforts to launch a number of other product lines such as lemon juice, lime juice...
Ms. Hong Van was also introduced to participate in the Vietnamese Women Confidently Doing Business Contest organized by the Central Association and won the Third Prize. The Hong Van Agricultural Product Development Cooperative, which has Ms. Van as Director, has made great strides.
The cooperative has cooperated with other entities to build sustainable sources of raw materials; fully exploit the values of local agricultural products, deeply process, and bring products to the market. The cooperative has created seasonal jobs for 4 workers, with revenue reaching 150 million VND/month.
There are also some typical examples of startups such as Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Kieu (owner of Hong An cereal powder facility) who has created jobs for 3 seasonal workers in the locality, achieving revenue of 650 million VND/year; Ms. Ho Thi Loc (Ho Loc Cooperative) has created jobs for 5 workers, the cooperative's products are recognized as 3-star OCOP products, with revenue of 500 million VND/year...
