Congress of Vietnam Association of Photographers Office for the 2024 term

(NADS) - On the morning of December 18, at the Vietnam Artistic Photography Archives and Exhibition Center, the Congress of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, Office of the Association for the term 2024 - 2029 took place solemnly. Attending and directing the Congress was Artist Tran Thi Thu Dong, President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

The Association's Office Branch currently has 20 members (of which 11 members were admitted during the term). The Office Branch is located at the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, including the following groups: Members who are working and holding important positions in the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists (Artist Ho Sy Minh - Member of the Standing Committee, Permanent Vice President of the Association, Editor-in-Chief of Photography and Life Magazine; Artist Ha Huu Duc - Member of the Executive Committee, Director of the Vietnam Art Photography Archives and Exhibition Center; Artist Nguyen Duc Dieu - Head of the Organizing Committee for member emulation); members who have held important responsibilities and have retired at the Association's office; members living and working in Hanoi who have just been admitted and assigned to the Branch in 2024.

Artist Tran Thi Thu Dong, President of the Vietnam Association of Artists, delivered a speech directing the Congress.

At the Congress, NSNA Ha Huu Duc presented a report summarizing the work of the Association for the 2019 - 2024 term and the direction for the 2024 - 2029 term and a report reviewing the work of the Association's Executive Committee for the 2019 - 2024 term.

With the characteristic that many members of the Office Branch are cadres working directly at the Association's offices, all photography activities of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists have the direct participation and contribution of the Branch members, typically including:

- NSNA Ho Sy Minh, with the responsibility of Permanent Vice President and Head of the Theory and Criticism Department, Editor-in-Chief of Photography and Life Magazine, has participated in many photo judging and evaluations of works for photo contests from the central to regional levels.

Journalist - Artist Ho Sy Minh, member of the Standing Committee, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Artists, spoke at the Congress.

- NSNA Ha Huu Duc: participated in organizing photo exhibitions of the Central Association, co-editor of two valuable photo books on history, "Images of Vietnam in the late 19th - early 20th centuries" and "Dien Bien Phu - Historical Rendezvous" to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien liberation.

- Artist Bui Hoa Tien, former Vice President of the Association: always actively participates in the Jury Councils at all levels for photo contests organized by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and other units.

- Artist Nguyen Hoang Dieu presided over many creative and training camps of the Association, contributing to improving the professional capacity of artists attending the camps.

Artist Ha Huu Duc, member of the Executive Committee, Director of the Vietnam Art Photography Archives and Exhibition Center, spoke at the Congress.

The delegates raised their hands to vote.

The members of the Association all have outstanding achievements in photography activities, with many domestic and international awards such as:

- Artist Nguyen Thi Ly Giang: 02 national Bronze Medals and nearly 20 works won regional awards and national exhibitions.

- NSNA Truong The Cau: 07 regional awards as well as other photo contests.

- Artist Ngo Van Minh held a solo exhibition in 2022 sponsored by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and had more than 10 works winning regional awards, national exhibitions and other joint competitions.

- Artist Nguyen Anh Tuan: FIAP Gold Medal at the VN-23 competition organized by the Vietnam Association of Artists.

- Artist Nguyen Viet Hong has many works exhibited nationally as well as won awards in other photo contests.

During the 2024 - 2029 term, the Association sets out its operational direction with the determination to build a politically and professionally strong association, actively participating in the activities of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.

In addition, the Congress also focused on discussing and commenting on the documents of the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts (2025 - 2030), including the following drafts: Political report; Review report of the Executive Committee of the Association; Amended and supplemented Charter of the 10th Term (2025 - 2030).

Delegates voted to elect the Executive Committee of the Association's Office Branch for the 2024 - 2029 term.

Association President Tran Thi Thu Dong and Association Permanent Vice President Ho Sy Minh presented flowers to congratulate the Association's Executive Committee for the 2024 - 2029 term.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the Association for the 2024 - 2029 term, consisting of 02 people, with the Association Chairman being NSNA Ha Huu Duc and NSNA Nguyen Duc Dieu as Vice Chairman. The Association also elected a delegation of 11 delegates to attend the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts (2025 - 2030), including 06 delegates elected by the Congress, 04 ex-officio delegates and 01 appointed delegate.
