(NADS) - On December 18, at the Headquarters of the Editorial Department of Nhan Dan Newspaper, 71 Hang Trong - Hanoi, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists of Nhan Dan Newspaper held the Congress for the term 2024 - 2029 in a solemn and united atmosphere.
Attending the Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association of Nhan Dan Newspaper were comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association. Also attending were journalist Phan Huy Thang, member of the Party Committee Standing Committee, member of the Editorial Board, Head of the Secretariat - Editorial Board of Nhan Dan Newspaper; journalist Vu Mai Hoang, member of the Party Committee Standing Committee, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association of Nhan Dan Newspaper; journalist Pham Thanh Chuong, Head of the Photo Department, Nhan Dan Newspaper.
Attending and directing the Congress were Artist Tran Thi Thu Dong, Vice President of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, National Assembly Delegate; also attending was Artist Nguyen Xuan Chinh, Executive Committee Member, Head of the Creation - Exhibition Committee, Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists.
The Congress of the Vietnamese Writers Association of Nhan Dan Newspaper was attended by 05 members, all of whom are Party members. On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Association for the 2019-2024 term, Artist Vu Anh Tuan presented a report summarizing the work of the Association for the 2019-2024 term and the direction for the 2024-2029 term; Report reviewing the work of the Executive Committee of the Association for the 2019-2024 term.
As journalists, the members of the Association are active in many areas, taking many types of photos. During the past term, the members of the Association have always proactively updated the Association's photography information in particular, as well as the situation of the country in general, thereby making positive contributions to the photography movement of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, the Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Association of Photographic Artists of the Nhan Dan Newspaper.
In the 2019 - 2024 term, the Association of Vietnamese Artists of Nhan Dan Newspaper was newly reorganized, the number of members is not large and they live in many provinces and cities. However, depending on the circumstances and conditions, the artists in the association are passionate about their profession, promoting their abilities and strengths to contribute to the overall achievements of the association. Artist Vu Anh Tuan, as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Vietnamese Artists for the 2019-2024 term, has successfully completed the professional tasks of the Association. Artist Nguyen Duc Tuan was awarded the Association's Commemorative Medal and won many photography awards from units in Son La province sponsored by the Association of Vietnamese Artists.
Artist Tran Thanh Hai was awarded the title of Excellent Photographer (E.VAPA/G) at the end of 2024, bringing the total number of 3/5 members of the branch to have the high title of E.VAPA/G and Photographer with Excellent Contribution (ES.VAPA) of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists. Artists Nguyen Dang Khoa and Le Phuong Bang, in addition to completing their tasks well at Nhan Dan newspaper, also actively participated in composing, participating in competitions and had many photos exhibited at competitions, winning many awards such as the Excellent Award of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, awards and certificates of merit from ministries, departments and branches in coordination with the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists to organize exhibitions.
Towards the 2024-2029 term, the Vietnam Association of Photographers of Nhan Dan Newspaper strives to fulfill the Association's tasks enthusiastically in composing, discovering topics to create high-quality works that are timely and have artistic value. Encourage, train and help photojournalists of Nhan Dan Newspaper to soon meet the criteria to be admitted to the Vietnam Association of Photographers of Nhan Dan Newspaper.
At the Congress, in addition to the contributions of the Association members, the leaders of Nhan Dan Newspaper and the President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists gave guidance and suggested many issues to improve the artistry in press photography. The issue of coordination between the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, the Association of Photographic Artists of Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in the work of training, fostering and developing members was raised.
The Congress elected the new Executive Committee for the 2024-2029 term. Artist Vu Anh Tuan was re-elected as Branch Chairman, and Artist Nguyen Dang Khoa as Branch Vice Chairman. The Branch elected 03 delegates to attend the National Congress of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists for the 2025-2030 term, including 02 delegates elected by the Congress and 01 ex-officio delegate.
