On June 7, Hanoi University of Science and Technology held a ceremony to announce the resolutions to establish and the decisions to appoint management positions for the School of Materials, School of Chemistry and Life Sciences.
Thus, along with 3 schools: Mechanics, Electricity - Electronics, Information Technology and Communications, Hanoi University of Science and Technology currently has 5 schools, established under the Law on Amending and Supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Higher Education (Law No. 34/2018).
The operating apparatus of Hanoi University of Science and Technology is optimized towards streamlining, effectiveness and efficiency; strongly decentralizing all aspects of operations to specialized units; centralized management and operation according to strategies and general regulations and rules issued by Hanoi University of Science and Technology; students are awarded a unique degree from Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
The establishment of 5 schools of Hanoi University of Science and Technology is one of the steps to complete the university structure with a tight structure, modern management and administration system; complete the strategy and long-term development orientation; complete the organization and operation regulations... Towards the university model - a suitable model to implement a multidisciplinary structure - under the direction of the Government leaders and the leaders of the Ministry of Education and Training.

* School of Materials (Hanoi University of Science and Technology) was established on the basis of merging the following units: Institute of Materials Science and Engineering; Institute of Textile - Footwear and Fashion; International Training Institute for Materials Science (ITIMS), Center for Polymer and Composite Materials Research and Department of Printing Technology.
The main research subjects of the School of Materials - Hanoi University of Science and Technology - include: Metallic and non-metallic materials, electronic and photonic materials, composite materials, biomedical materials, energy materials, nanomaterials... with typical research directions: Physical, chemical, mechanical properties... of materials; computational simulation of materials; computational simulation of technological processes; research and development of advanced material systems, smart materials, environmentally friendly materials; applied research and development of source technology; research and application of high technology in life; technology decoding, technology consulting. * The School of Chemistry and Life Sciences (Hanoi University of Science and Technology) was established on the basis of merging 4 Institutes: Institute of Chemical Engineering, Institute of Biotechnology & Food Technology, Institute of Environmental Science and Technology, Institute of Research and Development of Application of Natural Compounds. The school has a team of well-trained and highly qualified lecturers and staff with more than 90% of lecturers holding doctoral degrees and nearly 40% of lecturers holding the titles of professor and associate professor.
The School of Chemistry and Life Sciences trains in the fields of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Bioengineering, Food Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Resource and Environmental Management. These are fields that are similar in terms of basic knowledge, belonging to the main fields of science, technology and engineering, and are sustainable. The school has modern, synchronous research centers and laboratories combined with advanced teaching methods, thereby expanding job opportunities for students after graduation, diversifying high-quality human resources for the development of the country in the new situation. Hanoi University of Science and Technology believes in the development and determination of the two schools to overcome the difficulties and challenges of the early period of establishment. Along with professionalism, solidarity, and unity in operation; experience from the 3 previously established schools, the School of Materials and the School of Chemistry and Life Sciences will soon stabilize and develop, contributing to training high-quality human resources for the country.
