In recent years, the family of Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Nghi (in A Tieng commune, Tay Giang) has connected to purchase and sell agricultural products from mountainous areas such as honey, purple Morinda officinalis wine, black sticky rice, mountain frogs, etc. "At the end of the year, highland products sell quite well, helping to earn significant additional income for many local people," Ms. Nghi shared.
Not only Ms. Nghi, recently, many customers inside and outside the province have come to the establishments selling black smoked pork products of people in Ta Po, Ca Dy communes, Thanh My town (Nam Giang) to order Tet goods.
Ms. Brao Hong Tham - owner of Co Ngo smoked pork establishment (Dung residential group, Thanh My town) said that every year around mid-December, customers start ordering smoked pork and black pork for meat. If on normal days, the establishment only sells 2-5kg of smoked pork per week, during Tet, there are days when it sells 15-20kg.
Many people also choose to buy roasted chili salt, sometimes selling more than 100 jars in advance during Tet. “I have been selling chili salt and smoked meat for nearly 10 years, so most of my customers are acquaintances. Those who bought before introduced me to those who bought after, and gradually the number of customers increased year by year. Many first-time buyers were introduced by their friends, and thanks to the quality of the products and reasonable prices, they often come to support me,” Ms. Tham shared.
Ms. A Lang Oanh - a member of the A Lung Trinh business household (Po Rieng black pork facility in Vinh village, Ta Po commune) said that in the past, people in the mountainous areas mainly produced to serve the needs of their families and the community.
In recent years, due to customer demand, many people have started to display their products at fairs and expand their business on social networks. Black smoked pork is the same, initially it was only processed to serve family needs, then shared with friends and acquaintances. After a while, the product was welcomed and known by many people, so the number of orders increased day by day.
“After nearly 4 years of selling black pork jerky, my products have been trusted by many people. Although the designs are not as beautiful as those available on the market, customers are always assured of the quality,” Ms. Oanh shared.
