The Times of Israel reported on November 2 that Lebanese Minister of Public Works and Transport Ali Hamie said that Israeli special forces had raided and arrested a Lebanese citizen, the captain of a civilian ship. According to Lebanese media, a naval commando unit of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out a raid on a wooden house on the Batroun coast in northern Lebanon and arrested one person, before returning to the sea and leaving the area by speedboat.

In contrast, the Israeli military announced that its fighter jets had attacked the rocket launcher that Hezbollah used to attack central Israel on November 2.

In a related development, Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei announced that Tehran would retaliate against Tel Aviv's attacks on Iran and the armed groups it supports. "The enemy, whether America or Israel, should understand that they will receive a fierce response to any action against Iran, the Iranian people and the resistance front," Khamenei said in Tehran on November 2, with the "resistance front" referring to pro-Iran armed groups in the Middle East, according to AFP.
