VFF announced 3 Vietnamese assistants for coach Kim Sang Sik. These assistants include coach Le Duc Tuan, coach Luu Danh Minh and goalkeeper coach Ngo Viet Trung.
Coach Luu Danh Minh used to be an assistant in the Vietnam national team when coach Park Hang Seo was still leading. He always received high appreciation from the head coaches of the teams for his sense of responsibility and dedication to work.
Coach Luu Danh Minh plays the role of a professional assistant, supporting Mr. Park and Mr. Lee Young Jin in tactical training. He is also often assigned to “spy” and record videos to serve as material for Coach Park Hang Seo to analyze and evaluate opponents.
Coach Ngo Viet Trung is not a strange face because he is part of coach Philippe Troussier's coaching staff.
The new face is Coach Le Duc Tuan. He is currently the assistant head coach at Hanoi FC. Mr. Tuan is highly regarded as one of 22 Vietnamese coaches with an AFC Pro license.
Previously, the Vietnam Football Federation signed a contract with Korean coach Choi Won Kwon. Mr. Choi worked as an assistant to coach Kim Sang Sik in the national team and U23 Vietnam.
The new head coach of the Vietnam National Team also has support from a team of assistants in charge of other tasks such as fitness, medical, analysis, technical, logistics, translation, etc.
The Vietnam national team will gather again on June 1 to prepare for two matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Iraq and the Philippines.
At the end of this year, the Vietnam national team will participate in the ASEAN Cup 2024. Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team are in the same group with Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar and Laos.
