While swimming, Mr. Viet was knocked into the sea by waves and called for help, but the workers on the fishing boat did not listen, leading to him drifting since the evening of June 1.
The provincial Border Guard Command said that a fishing boat from Ninh Thuan had just rescued a worker who was drifting in the waters of Phu Quy. The worker's health is now basically stable.
Accordingly, on the afternoon of June 4, fishing boat NT 90917 TS, with a capacity of 500 CV, including 11 workers, fishing with Mr. Le Van Thuan (born in 1990, Phan Rang, Thap Cham, Ninh Thuan) as captain. When the boat was anchored in an area about 35 nautical miles southwest of Phu Quy Island (coordinates 09°59'00''N-109°10'00''E), it discovered and rescued a worker drifting at sea, Mr. Tran Van Viet (born in 1980, residing in Kien Hai, Kien Giang province) in poor health. Afterwards, fishing boat NT 90917 TS brought Mr. Viet to Phu Quy Island at 10:00 on June 5 for treatment and reported to the Phu Quy Border Control Station. Currently, Mr. Viet's health is basically stable.
Through working with Mr. Tran Van Viet, it is known that he is a worker on the Ngoc Loi fishing boat in Binh Dai district, Ben Tre province (registration number not remembered), working as a trawler.
After receiving the information, the Provincial Border Guard Command directed the Phu Quy Border Guard Station to coordinate with the Phu Quy Military-Civilian Medical Center to provide medical care for Mr. Viet. At the same time, it coordinated with the Phu Quy District People's Committee to assist the victim in contacting his family to be taken to a safe place of residence.
