After Hue, on the afternoon of August 16, at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, Vietnam Women's Publishing House continued to organize an exchange program with readers on the occasion of the reprinting of the publication " In front of the house there is a yellow apricot tree " by journalist Minh Tu.
Launched in 2016 by Tre Publishing House, the publication Ochna in the front yard received the attention of many readers. After 8 years, many readers searched for the book but it was no longer available on the market. From a chance meeting between Ms. Khuc Thi Hoa Phuong, Director of Vietnam Women's Publishing House, and author Minh Tu in Hue, the publication Ochna in the front yard was reprinted. Notably, this reprint also includes an English version Ochna in the front yard translated by Khuu Ngo, as a way to spread the cultural values of Hue to international readers.
In this comeback, In Front of the House There is a Yellow Apricot Tree has been carefully selected by the author, edited, and supplemented with new articles and many images. Therefore, although there have been many works written about Hue from different authors, the Hue of In Front of the House There is a Yellow Apricot Tree is still strange as if it had just been discovered.
The yellow apricot tree in front of the house will be the reader's companion when setting foot on the land where "from the moment of creation, the sun is different from the sun, the rain is different from the rain, the shape of the river, the shape of the mountain, the trees, birds, the way of eating, the way of living of the people also have their own unique features. People call it the lifestyle of the Hue people, in short, "the Hue way". Also yellow apricot flowers, but the yellow apricot tree in front of the house of the Hue people has a different philosophy". No matter how the times change, the Hue people still maintain their character.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Bui Thanh Truyen, Chairman of the Council of Theory and Criticism - Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association, compared to the edition of 8 years ago, this edition of "In front of the house there is a yellow apricot tree " is much more beautiful and invested in. Especially, there is investment from a journalist who writes, a journalist who has the conditions to write about Hue more than other authors.
"Although there have been many people like Hoang Phu Ngoc Tuong and Nguyen Xuan Hoang who have written very well about Hue, writer and journalist Minh Tu still has the opportunity to look at and write about Hue with a different love. He loves Hue both near and far. Before, he loved Hue when he was in Da Lat, in the South, and later when he returned to Hue, he wrote with the feeling of a person in Hue, who had been far away from Hue. This is what makes Minh Tu's book different", Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Truyen shared.
Author and journalist Minh Tu (born in 1968) currently works at Tuoi Tre newspaper and lives in Hue city. He started his journalism career in 1992 and has been working for 32 years, working for three press agencies and doing all kinds of journalism jobs: collaborator, reporter, editor, office manager, journalism lecturer in the Central Highlands provinces, but his most seniority is still in Hue.
