Humanitarian Month is held every May. This is the peak period for organizing charitable humanitarian activities; promoting humanitarian values to all classes of people; mobilizing resources and building humanitarian funds, ensuring resources to support people in difficult circumstances and vulnerable people.
Organizations and individuals participate in building humanitarian funds.
After 5 years of implementation, the Humanitarian Month initiated by the Vietnam Red Cross Society (VRC) has mobilized thousands of billions of VND, helping millions of poor and disadvantaged people. A particularly important meaning that the Humanitarian Month brings is to raise awareness throughout society, encourage, promote, arouse and spread the spirit of mutual love among all classes of people. This is a necessary foundation to create a compassionate community.
In Thanh Hoa, through the implementation of the Humanitarian Month, the whole province has mobilized resources to carry out support activities for people in difficult circumstances. After 5 years of implementation, the whole province has supported 58,320 poor and disadvantaged people with a value of 27.326 billion VND. Typically, the Humanitarian Month in 2021 took place in the complicated situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, but with the motto of "leaving no one behind", the Red Cross at all levels had many new and creative ways, closely linked with the work of preventing and fighting the COVID-19 pandemic to effectively implement activities and organize resource mobilization during the Humanitarian Month. Thanks to practical activities, 9,689 people in difficult circumstances were supported with a value of 4.81 billion VND. From meaningful and practical activities, many organizations and individuals have had the right awareness of humanitarian work and Red Cross activities. Thanks to that, more and more organizations and individuals proactively carry out humanitarian and charitable activities.
Humanitarian Month 2023 with the theme: "From the heart of each of us - Joining hands to build a compassionate community" carries the message that each person should do humanitarian work from the heart. Following the command from the heart, love and share with those in difficult circumstances, multiply kind actions, contributing to building a united and compassionate community. During Humanitarian Month 2023, the whole province strives to have at least 10,000 people in difficult circumstances receive assistance; 100% of districts, towns, and city associations organize a series of practical activities towards the community.
In order for the Humanitarian Month and humanitarian work and Red Cross activities to be highly effective, the Provincial Red Cross Association has developed an action plan, mobilized resources; directed Red Cross Associations at all levels to promote the spirit of initiative and creativity in building humanitarian addresses and humanitarian funds in the area. From there, it is the basis to attract units, organizations and individuals to participate in building funds and implementing humanitarian activities. At the same time, always innovate, be creative and flexible in mobilizing resources and building funds; promote propaganda work through banners, leaflets, social networks, through loudspeakers, or propaganda integrated into the association's activities to spread humanitarian activities in the community.
Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Red Cross Association Nguyen Quoc Thanh said: Determining that humanitarian work must come from the heart, humanitarian activities in any form must carry love, sharing and be oriented towards the target. At the same time, with the motto of doing humanitarian work openly, transparently, to the right target, for the right purpose, promptly and effectively, the Red Cross staff and volunteers have always stayed close to the grassroots, grasped the actual circumstances, surveyed the support needs of the subjects to have reasonable support and become meaningful gifts, full of love, creating a good impression in the hearts of the subjects and the community. Thereby, spreading charitable activities and humanitarian movements in the community.
