Prepare conditions for spring crop production

Along with other localities in the province, at this time, farmers in Muong La district are actively working in the fields, preparing soil, seeds, and fertilizers for the spring crop with the hope of favorable weather and bountiful harvests.

To prepare well for the spring crop production, right after Tet, the People's Committee of Muong La district organized a tree planting ceremony and launched a movement for the whole population to do irrigation, ensuring irrigation water for production and daily life of the people.

Ms. CAM THI PHUONG - Bung Dien village, Muong Bu commune, Muong La, Son La : Today, the district and commune organized an irrigation campaign in Bung Dien village, and we were very excited and enthusiastic to participate. Hopefully, the new year will bring favorable weather so that people can work and produce with peace of mind.

To produce a successful spring crop, Muong La district has issued a production plan, directed the agricultural department and related units to step up propaganda work, and guide people on techniques for flooding and planting in the right time frame. Mobilize all people to work on irrigation, proactively source water for irrigation. Promote mechanization in land preparation, apply technical measures for sowing rice in the ground, in trays... actively prevent cold for rice seedlings if the weather drops below 15 degrees Celsius.

Mr. CAM VAN DOAN - Bung Dien village, Muong Bu commune, Muong La, Son La: The village has mobilized but has not planted yet, it will take 1-2 more days to sow. The family has a total of 6 plots, total area of ​​over 1,000 m2.

Mr. CA VAN DON - Chairman of Muong Bu Commune People's Committee, Muong La, Son La: Following the district's policy of 150 hectares, the Commune People's Committee has directed villages and sub-regions with spring crop fields to simultaneously prepare the land, plow, and sow rice from February 5-10.

This year's winter-spring crop, Muong La district plans to plant 966 hectares of spring rice, mainly in the communes of Muong Bu, Muong Chum, Pi Toong, Muong Trai, Nam Pam, Ngoc Chien and It Ong town... At this time, farmers are focusing on preparing the land and sowing rice seedlings in areas with favorable irrigation water. It is expected that Muong La district will simultaneously plant the winter-spring crop at the end of February.

Mr. NGUYEN VAN TAM - Vice Chairman of Muong La District People's Committee, Son La: After Tet, we have focused on directing the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Center for Agricultural Services, and the People's Committees of communes and towns to synchronously deploy preparations for the 2024-2025 winter-spring crop. Up to now, the basic preparations from irrigation, moisture, water assurance, soil preparation, seeds, fertilizers... are ready.

The current weather and climate conditions are quite favorable for people to go to the fields to produce, the irrigation water situation is not as scarce as in previous years. However, to be proactive in production, Muong La district also directed localities, depending on actual conditions, if there is a water shortage, to quickly switch to other short-term crops such as corn, peanuts, soybeans, vegetables of all kinds, making the most of the cultivated area to successfully produce the spring crop./.
