According to Mr. Nguyen Trong Manh, the architecture of family temples and ancestral worship spaces of clans is a field of research that is not only closely linked to religious culture but also reflects the depth of history, the development of traditional architecture and the identity of each region. This is not only a place to connect the spirituality of generations of descendants in the clan, but also a space to preserve valuable cultural, artistic and folk knowledge values.

However, in the current context, the preservation and promotion of the value of the architecture of the family church as well as the traditional worship space are facing many challenges. These challenges require appropriate solutions to both preserve the original values and meet the practical needs of modern life.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Manh emphasized that worship customs are an important part of the spiritual and cultural life of the Vietnamese people. This reality requires scientific and systematic research, so that each person, family and clan can apply it correctly in practice, bringing value to themselves and to future generations.

“With the desire to contribute to the community with scientific and valuable research, the seminar was organized with specific goals such as unifying the implementation method, determining the basis, data, information in regions, clans as well as cultural characteristics and worship methods.

The ultimate goal of the project is to have practical value and be accepted by the people, so that each person in each region and each clan knows how to build a church and a clan worship space properly, systematically and scientifically...", Mr. Manh said.

Historian Duong Trung Quoc agrees with this view, emphasizing that it is necessary to determine what products the results of this research project will produce, and how effective those products will be in providing specific models that are suitable for different cultural characteristics in different regions, convincing all people, families, and clans.

“We need to clearly identify this as an applied project, so the most important thing is the purpose and content. The proposed models need to be suitable for the ancestor worship mentality and the conditions of the people and clans. Note that cultural and folk zoning is relatively stable, but the living context is constantly changing, requiring the team of experts and researchers to carefully calculate,” said historian Duong Trung Quoc.

The research team of the “Time Flow” project said that cultural factors and cultural characteristics of regions are given special attention. This is a project to research and systematize historical, cultural, architectural, fine arts, feng shui science values... The project not only preserves documents and material and spiritual cultural heritages of our ancestors for future generations, but also helps spread good values and inspire the community in preserving the cultural traditions and architecture of the Vietnamese nation.

Through the Project, we aim to restore, design and develop worship spaces that meet both aesthetic, spiritual and practical needs in the new era.

At the Seminar, experts and scientists discussed and shared research directions and expected outputs, including architectural characteristics and functions of worship spaces according to specific regions and clans, and contributed additional scientific expertise to continue perfecting approaches, as well as proposing solutions to preserve and promote these values in the current context.

Initially, the research topic of the project "Architecture of family temples and worship spaces of family lines in Vietnam" was highly appreciated by experts and scientists for both its scientific and practical significance, especially its contributions in preserving, promoting and honoring the traditional cultural, artistic and architectural values of the nation in today's social life.

Speaking at the Seminar, Prof. Dr. Dinh Khac Thuan noted that to achieve highly feasible and practical goals, research should be applied in an open format, with special attention paid to factors related to regional cultural identity and clan culture.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hong Duong said that it is necessary to clarify each part of the content, process, and implementation time. Some principles that need to be noted are characteristics, cultural identity, regional characteristics, practicality, principles of each family line, clan, etc. In addition, it is necessary to focus on promoting communication.

Associate Professor, Dr. Architect Khuat Tan Hung further emphasized that the goal of the research project is to propose design solutions and design guidelines for the architecture of family temples and worship spaces.

“Zoning and identifying locations is very important, and we need to pay attention to cultural zoning, which is more appropriate than socio-economic zoning,” Associate Professor, Dr. Architect Khuat Tan Hung emphasized.

The seminar is an event within a series of scientific research activities under the “Time Flow” Project recently implemented by Xherozone Group to preserve traces of documentary, cultural, artistic, architectural, and feng shui heritage while honoring and promoting those values in the future.
