On the afternoon of February 3, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man visited, extended New Year greetings and worked with the State Audit Office (SA).
Accompanying were members of the Party Central Committee: Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai; Chairman of the Economic Committee Vu Hong Thanh; Chairman of the Committee for Culture and Education Nguyen Dac Vinh; Head of the Delegation Affairs Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai and representatives of a number of agencies of the National Assembly.
On the side of the State Audit Office, there were: Party Central Committee member, State Auditor General Ngo Van Tuan, along with leaders, cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers.
Complete the 2024 audit plan
At the meeting between the National Assembly Chairman and the State Audit Office, Deputy State Auditor General Doan Anh Tho reported to the National Assembly Chairman on some situations of the State Audit Office.
Accordingly, by January 31, 2025, the entire sector had completed the entire 2024 Audit Plan. Based on the directives of the State Audit Office, the activities of "Celebrating the glorious Party, celebrating the Spring of At Ty 2025" were carefully and practically prepared and organized. The units thoroughly grasped and strictly implemented Directive No. 40 of the Secretariat on organizing the celebration of the Lunar New Year At Ty 2025; Directive No. 45 of the Prime Minister on strengthening measures to ensure a joyful, healthy, safe and economical Lunar New Year At Ty 2025.
In particular, the State Audit Office has thoroughly informed civil servants, public employees and workers to implement and strictly comply with the State Audit Office Party Committee's instructions on organizing the Lunar New Year 2025; the State Auditor General's instructions on welcoming the Lunar New Year 2025, the units have seriously implemented the State Auditor General's instructions: enjoy the Spring Festival, celebrate the New Year, participate in festival activities in accordance with regulations, ensure that the spring activities and meetings at the beginning of the year are practical, safe, economical, in line with the cultural lifestyle, traditions, customs and good practices of the nation; do not use the state budget, means and public assets contrary to regulations.
In 2024, the whole sector has proactively focused on implementing many synchronous and drastic solutions, overcoming all difficulties with the motto of the State Audit Office of Vietnam "compact but high-quality", ensuring the successful completion of assigned tasks. The units have summarized the activities in 2024 and developed a work plan for 2025, along with key tasks under the direction of the State Audit Office Party Committee, proposing specific solutions and directions; before the Tet holiday, the units have developed an audit plan for 2025...
Audit results assist the National Assembly in approving the state budget estimate.
At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasized that the country's achievements in the past year had important contributions from the State Audit Office.
“It can be affirmed that in 2024, our country's political regime will be stable, so many investors in the world have come to Vietnam. The work of building the Party and the political system has been strengthened, especially in the past 3 months, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Executive Committee have summarized Resolution No. 18/NQ-TW; and implemented the arrangement of a streamlined, strong, efficient, effective, and efficient apparatus,” the National Assembly Chairman emphasized.
In addition, the fight against corruption, waste and negativity has been given attention and promoted, with no forbidden areas. “In order to fight against corruption, waste and negativity, the State Audit sector has made a very important contribution through auditing to detect signs of violations at the Central level, ministries, branches, units and localities. These results have created people's trust in the leadership of the Party and the management of the State,” said the National Assembly Chairman.
The National Assembly Chairman highly appreciated the entire industry for implementing well Directive 40 of the Secretariat on taking care of Tet for civil servants, public employees and workers of the unit, ensuring the entire industry welcomes the Spring happily, safely and economically.
The National Assembly Chairman also emphasized that in 2024, the audit results contributed to helping the National Assembly approve the state budget estimate; at the same time, the State Audit Office's report is an extremely important basis for organizing supreme supervision delegations of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Standing Committee.
According to the National Assembly Chairman, 2025 is a year with many important events for the country, so the State Audit needs to focus on implementing a fierce emulation campaign to achieve achievements to celebrate the country's major anniversaries; welcome party congresses at all levels, towards the national party congress.
The National Assembly Chairman noted that through the audit, it is necessary to review the inadequacies that need to be amended in the law, in order to remove institutional bottlenecks to promote socio-economic development, so that the country can enter a new era, an era of national growth.
“The National Assembly has innovated the law-making process, only regulating issues under the authority of the National Assembly, not including the contents of circulars and decrees in the law. I hope that through auditing, the State Audit will contribute to discovering inadequacies in the implementation of the laws promulgated by the National Assembly; if they are not reasonable, they will continue to be revised,” said the National Assembly Chairman, and at the same time requested that the State Audit need to have strong opinions to improve the quality of annual State budget estimates and settlements, as a basis for the National Assembly to approve; need to correctly identify issues and areas that need to be audited...; detect issues for adjustment in the implementation of State policies and laws. In particular, after the audit, it is necessary to monitor the implementation of audit recommendations, ensuring publicity and transparency...
The National Assembly Chairman wishes all leaders, cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers of the State Audit Office a new year filled with new joys and new victories, worthy of being an effective tool of the Party and State.
