This is the second Forum to promote trade and investment cooperation between the two countries held within the framework of the National Assembly Chairman's official visit to China.
Attending the Forum were: Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Committee for Mass Mobilization Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang; leaders of ministries, branches, localities and hundreds of Vietnamese enterprises, including representatives of many state-owned corporations and groups operating in key economic sectors. Held in Yunnan province - a locality that shares a border with Vietnam, one of the growth engines of the Southwest region of China, with an important connection position with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries in general and Vietnam in particular, the Forum is an opportunity for both sides to share trends, new investment cooperation opportunities, solutions to reform the investment environment of each country; make proposals to improve cooperation efficiency, towards the common success of enterprises when investing and doing business in Vietnam and in Yunnan, China. The participation of about 450 enterprises of the two countries has shown the determination and desire to promote cooperation, seek business and investment opportunities of enterprises of each country.
Speaking at the Forum, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue expressed his impression of the dynamic and effective development of Yunnan province and Kunming city. Emphasizing that in the overall relationship with China, Vietnam attaches special importance to relations with localities sharing a common border, including Yunnan province, the National Assembly Chairman highly appreciated the good cooperative relations between Yunnan province and localities of Vietnam, especially the northern border provinces of Vietnam in recent times.
With the advantage of convenient exchange, the two sides have many border gates and customs clearance points; the desire, demand and potential for cooperation between the two sides in trade and travel are very large, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue stated that the senior leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam always support and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese localities to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with Chinese localities, including Yunnan province. The Vietnamese National Assembly is ready to accompany and support so that cooperation between Vietnamese localities and Yunnan will develop more and more strongly, bringing practical benefits to the people of both sides.
To further promote the potential and strengths of the two sides, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue suggested that the two sides accelerate the connection of development strategies, promptly and effectively implement the cooperation documents signed during the recent visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, especially the Cooperation Plan connecting the framework of "Two Corridors, One Belt" with the "Belt and Road" initiative, the Agreement and Protocol on the construction of a road bridge across the Red River, the border area of Bat Xat, Lao Cai (Vietnam) - Ba Sai, Yunnan (China), the Action Plan for the period 2023 - 2026 implementing the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and the People's Government of Yunnan Province (China) on strengthening economic and trade cooperation and the Memorandums of Understanding on strengthening railway cooperation, the Memorandum of Understanding on strengthening cooperation in aid for cross-border railway development. The two sides soon agreed on a plan to connect the railway section between Lao Cai station (Vietnam) and Hekou Bac station (Yunnan, China).
According to National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, these are important items to promote trade activities between the two sides, creating favorable conditions for the people of Lao Cai and Yunnan provinces in particular and Vietnam and China in general to promote trade and investment cooperation. Based on the potential and strengths in terms of capital scale, technology level, and management experience, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that Yunnan enterprises have advantages when investing in a number of industries and fields in Vietnam such as: processing and manufacturing industry, high-tech agriculture, bio-industry, green economy, digital economy, circular economy, knowledge economy, development of transport infrastructure, highways, high-speed railways, and urban railways.
To further promote existing mechanisms, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue suggested that relevant agencies need to closely follow the actual needs of the people on both sides, creating a favorable economic environment so that import-export and business investment activities of enterprises in the region can advance to international markets. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue stated that the Vietnamese National Assembly has and will always accompany the entire political system to issue many appropriate policies to build a transparent, fair and comprehensive legal framework, creating favorable conditions for foreign investors in general and Chinese enterprises in particular to do business smoothly and successfully in Vietnam. Thereby, together concretizing new achievements and new connotations of the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership, bringing the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries to constantly develop, go into depth, be stable, good, sustainable and long-term.
Earlier, in his welcoming speech at the Forum, on behalf of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and Government, Vice Chairman of the Yunnan Provincial Government Liu Yong warmly welcomed National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to visit Yunnan Province and attend the extremely important Forum to promote trade and investment cooperation between the two countries; expressing his belief that this Forum will enhance trust and open up new opportunities to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two sides.
Emphasizing that economic and trade cooperation between Yunnan province and Vietnamese localities has developed very positively in recent times, the Vice Chairman of the Yunnan provincial government introduced to the National Assembly Chairman and delegates the potential, strengths and current strategic development orientations of Yunnan province. Mr. Liu Yong emphasized that the political trust from the highest levels of the leaders of the two Parties and two countries and the friendship between the two peoples are the basis for the cooperative relationship between Yunnan province and Vietnamese localities to develop more effectively, and affirmed that Yunnan province will strive to accelerate mutually beneficial cooperation with Vietnamese localities, especially in areas where Yunnan has strengths and Vietnamese localities have needs.
At the Forum, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and delegates from the two countries witnessed businesses from the two countries exchanging memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements in the fields of aviation, supply chain finance, design and manufacture of robotic systems, automatic production lines applying artificial intelligence to the production and trade of coffee products in China and Vietnam; trade in the fresh flower industry, promoting cooperation and exchange between the two sides in the field of fresh flowers...
During the visit of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue, Vietnam Airlines signed a memorandum of understanding with Chinese partners worth a total of 438 million USD, contributing to promoting trade and tourism between Vietnam and China in the context of the aviation and tourism industries of the two countries having just overcome the difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
