The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued decisions to appoint leaders for 7 newly established departments, thereby completing the leadership positions of 16 departments under the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
On the afternoon of February 20, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee held a ceremony to present the Decision on cadres. Attending the ceremony was Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen.
Accordingly, the HCM City People's Committee has issued 7 decisions to appoint leadership personnel for 7 newly established departments according to the Resolution of the HCM City People's Council.
Specifically, Mr. Lam Dinh Thang was appointed as Director of the Department of Science and Technology.
Mr. Vo Ngoc Quoc Thuan was appointed Director of the Department of Home Affairs.
Ms. Le Thi Huynh Mai was appointed as Director of the Department of Finance.
Mr. Tran Quang Lam was appointed Director of the Department of Transport and Public Works.
Mr. Tran Hoang Quan was appointed Director of the Department of Construction.
Mr. Nguyen Toan Thang was appointed Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Tan was appointed Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.
The remaining leaders of the 9 specialized agencies under the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee include: Chief Inspector of the city Tran Van Bay; Director of the Department of Tourism Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa; Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Tran The Thuan; Director of the Department of Health Tang Chi Thuong; Director of the Department of Education and Training Nguyen Van Hieu; Director of the Department of Justice Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh; Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Bui Ta Hoang Vu; Director of the Department of Food Safety Pham Khanh Phong Lan and Chief of Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Dang Quoc Toan.
Thus, 16 specialized agencies under the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee have completed their leadership personnel.
At the 21st session of the 10th term Ho Chi Minh City People's Council held on the afternoon of February 20, the city People's Council delegates voted to pass a resolution on the rearrangement of the administrative apparatus. Accordingly, 7 new departments were established and the units under the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee were streamlined.
The restructuring reduces the number of departments from 21 to 16. Of these, 7 new departments are established on the basis of merging or reorganizing existing units.
The agencies that have streamlined their focal points and internal organization are the City Inspectorate, Department of Tourism, Department of Culture and Sports, Department of Health, Department of Education and Training, Department of Justice, Department of Industry and Trade, and Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
Thus, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has 16 specialized agencies after the restructuring (5 agencies less than before), including: Department of Finance, Department of Home Affairs, Department of Construction, Department of Transport and Public Works, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Culture and Sports, Department of Tourism, Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Department of Health, Department of Education and Training, Department of Justice, Department of Industry and Trade, Office of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, City Inspectorate and Department of Food Safety.
