On January 10, Hai Phong City People's Committee held a State-level award ceremony and a conference to implement the Resolution of the City Party Committee and People's Council on socio-economic development, national defense and security tasks in 2024.

At the Award Ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan awarded the Third Class Labor Medal to Mr. Nguyen Van Tung - Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee for his outstanding achievements in leading and directing the emulation movement "Increasing local budget revenue" in the period of 2018 - 2022 of Hai Phong City.
On this occasion, the Government awarded the Emulation Flag to Hai Phong City - the leading unit in the patriotic emulation movement in 2022 of the Cluster of 5 centrally-run cities.
After the Award Ceremony, Mr. Le Anh Quan - Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee announced the decisions of the City People's Committee on assigning targets for the 2024 Socio-Economic Development Plan; Work Program of the City People's Committee in 2024; Assigning the State budget revenue and expenditure estimates in 2024.
At the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long - Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Hai Phong announced the results of the assessment of the Competitiveness Index of departments, agencies, branches and localities of Hai Phong City in 2023. At the local level, Hong Bang district ranked first. Regarding departments, agencies and branches, the Department of Culture and Sports of Hai Phong ranked first.
Hai Phong Department of Home Affairs also announced the results of the 2023 Administrative Reform Index assessment of departments, branches, sectors, and People's Committees of districts in the area. Regarding departments, branches, and sectors, the 3 units with the highest satisfaction index are the Department of Transport, the Economic Zone Management Board, and the Hai Phong Department of Tourism. At the local level, Hong Bang district is the only locality with a satisfaction index of over 90% .
