Chairman of Ca Mau requested to speed up the progress of key projects

Investigate the responsibility of the head in disbursing public investment capital

"Proactively research, implement or advise on the issuance of policies and solutions to support people and businesses to contribute to the recovery and growth of the local economy," the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province requested.

In particular, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province requested to accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital, take public investment as the lead, activate and attract all social resources, and increase the attraction of private investment. Regularly inspect, urge, and attach responsibility to the heads of agencies and units with the disbursement results.

Along with that, speed up the construction progress of key projects and works in the province, especially important transport and energy infrastructure works.

In addition, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province requested strict control and thorough savings in spending, especially regular spending, to reserve resources for development investment, for key and important national projects, and resources for implementing salary reform and social security.

Focus on handling and resolving problems related to mechanisms, preferential policies, legal procedures, land... to speed up the implementation of investment projects in the province.

Need support of about 1 million m3 of sand for foundation

According to the report of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, regarding the site clearance work, as of May 8, 6/7 projects have handed over over 90% of the area. Of which, the project to upgrade and expand the U Minh - Khanh Hoi route has reached nearly 70%.

Some other ongoing projects include: Project to upgrade and expand Ca Mau Airport; Component project of Hau Giang - Ca Mau section through the province (part of the North - South expressway construction project in the East phase 2021-2025); Investment project to upgrade and expand Cai Nuoc - Vam Dinh - Cai Doi Vam route; Ganh Hao bridge; upgrading and expanding Ca Mau - Dam Doi route (section from Hai Thuong Lan Ong street to Xom Ruong bridge)...

However, according to the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, the supply of sand and stone has been greatly affecting the investment costs and construction progress of investment and construction projects in Ca Mau province.

Through review, the demand for construction materials, to complete key projects in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021-2025, Ca Mau continues to need about one million m3 of sand for embankment; 250,000 m3 of yellow sand; 330,000 m3 of 1x2 stone; 100,000 m3 of 4x6 stone and over 410,000 m3 of crushed stone.

Therefore, in order to create conditions for the implementation and completion of key projects in the province according to plan, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province has a document requesting the People's Committee of An Giang province to pay attention to prioritizing and creating favorable conditions to support the supply of materials, mainly sand and stone for this province.

According to the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, as of May 8, agencies, units and investors have disbursed public investment capital of VND 1,052/5,228 billion (reaching more than 20% of the plan). Of which, the capital plan for 2024 disbursed 21.5%, the capital plan for 2023 transferred to 2024 disbursed 6%.
