With scores of 26.75 and 25.9 respectively for university admission, Nguyen Binh Phuong Nhu and Nguyen Binh Phuong Nhi, former English major students, decided to choose the agronomy major at Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry as the place to fulfill their dreams.
High academic results thanks to volunteering
Phuong Nhu and Phuong Nhi, 18 years old, from Binh Phuoc, are twin sisters. Both are former English major students at Quang Trung High School for the Gifted, Binh Phuoc.
Phuong Nhu won second prize in the provincial English competition, third prize in the school-level Reading Culture competition, and was awarded the title of 3-good student. In grade 12, she took the IELTS test and got 7.5...
Not inferior to her sister, instead of joining the team, Phuong Nhi participated in academic competitions and achieved many outstanding achievements such as first prize in the "Global Citizen Toward Marine Health" competition, consolation prize in the "Rise up - SDGs Competition 2022" competition, second prize in the school-level Reading Culture Competition. Also in grade 12, Phuong Nhi took the IELTS test and achieved 7.0.
The two sisters often exchange lessons with each other.

Not choosing to stay in a safe shell, with the desire to experience more, the couple is active in extracurricular activities such as being the head of the Social Work Club, collaborators of translation projects. "We like to participate in volunteer activities with the desire to create good values for society and bring joy to both of us. Thanks to that, our academic results are also higher," the twins shared.
The twins have just entered their first semester of university, exposed to many new courses with a large amount of knowledge, but that does not cause difficulties for both of them, on the contrary, it creates interest in learning. "Although we have only studied for 2 months, we find that the lecturers teach easy to understand, often creating opportunities for students to express their personal opinions," the two sisters shared. In addition to studying at school, Nhu and Nhi also give themselves many opportunities to learn soft skills.
Dream of owning a clean farm
Right from grade 11, the twins chose agronomy at Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry because of their dream of owning a clean farm. This decision surprised their teachers and they had to ask many times before submitting their official application.
Before the high school graduation exam, the two sisters received the news that they had been accepted into university based on their academic records. They jumped for joy, but because it was late at night, they did not dare tell their parents. The next morning, the twins announced the good news. The whole family was very happy because their dream had come true.

Sharing the reason for choosing the major, Phuong Nhi said that Vietnam has great potential for agricultural development, however, due to limitations in the production process, output is facing many difficulties. "I am very sad that Vietnamese agricultural products depend heavily on traders. That is the reason why we are here, with the goal of producing clean fruits and vegetables after graduation and exporting them to the world," Phuong Nhi shared. In addition, Nhu and Nhi consider themselves extroverted, like working in open spaces, and love plants, so choosing agronomy is suitable.
The parents of the pair are cashew farmers, so they both understand the hardship and uncertainty of this job. "There are years when the cashew crop is good but traders force down the price, and there are years when they lose everything but the price goes up so high that there is nothing to sell. Therefore, our parents have to do many other jobs to earn money to pay for our education. Therefore, we both understand that we have to study and strive harder to help our parents and farmers escape this situation," Phuong Nhi confided.
On the first day of university, the whole class was quite surprised to see a pair of twin sisters. Because they were not familiar with each other, their classmates often mistook the two sisters, but once they got to know each other, they could recognize each other because Phuong Nhi had a slightly fuller face than Phuong Nhu.
Currently, Phuong Nhu works as a teaching assistant at an English center to cover her living expenses. Phuong Nhi wants to experience more, so she often spends time going out to read books to learn about urban life, as well as find new opportunities for herself.
Homeroom teacher surprised when twins choose agronomy
Ms. Bich Thuy, Phuong Nhu and Phuong Nhi's homeroom teacher and literature teacher, confided that she was very impressed with the two students because of their efforts, modesty, and progress in studying. Although they are twins, not everyone can love and bond like these two. "Throughout my teaching career, not only I but many other teachers have admired the two of them. During the harvest season, the two sisters are willing to go to the fields to help their parents without being afraid of the hard work."
Also because of their excellent academic ability and polite attitude, Ms. Thuy was surprised when the twins chose agronomy, because with such good foreign language skills, they could choose majors with opportunities to go further. However, when hearing the two sisters confide in each other that they wanted to establish a clean farm combined with tourism, Ms. Thuy fully supported them because this is a good thing, bringing good values to society. Ms. Thuy further revealed that the talent and obedience of Phuong Nhu and Phuong Nhi are inherited from their parents' blessings. Although their family is in agriculture, every year their parents anonymously sponsor scholarships for students in difficult circumstances.
