Yesterday (February 5) was Cristiano Ronaldo's 40th birthday. At this age, most stars have retired, but CR7 is different. He is still performing well in the Al-Nassr shirt.

Including a brace against Al-Wasl in the AFC Champions League, Ronaldo has scored 23 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions in the 2024/25 season. Although he has entered his forties, the Portuguese star has no intention of retiring from football.

Ronaldo's fitness at 40 has been the subject of many scientific studies. In addition to genetics and a rigorous training program, CR7 also defies age thanks to a very special diet.

According to ESPN , Ronaldo does not eat for pleasure but has a meticulous, scientific approach to stay in shape and maximize performance.

Protein is the foundation of the Portuguese star's diet because it is an important ingredient for muscle recovery and growth. In addition, CR7 also favors complex carbohydrates, healthy fats and fresh, unprocessed foods.

Real Madrid's all-time top scorer eats six small meals a day to keep his metabolism up. CR7's diet is mainly based on:

- Protein: Chicken, fish (especially sea bass, swordfish, cod) and eggs;

- Whole grains: Brown rice, quinoa, whole wheat pasta;

Water is another important part of Ronaldo's diet. CR7 avoids sugary drinks, even refusing a bottle of Coca-Cola during a press conference at EURO 2020.

In his diet, Ronaldo especially loves Bacalhau a Bras. This is a traditional Portuguese dish, made from salted cod, onions, potatoes and eggs.

When it comes to diet to improve physical fitness, Ronaldo considers chicken a miracle food because it is rich in protein and low in fat.

Most importantly, Ronaldo always ensures a disciplined diet. Ronaldo's former teammate at Juventus Medhi Benatia once revealed that CR7 refused a dessert after Juventus won.

Instead, the Portuguese star opted for a chicken dish. “He said, ‘No. I don’t want that. I have to take care of my body,’” Benatia recalled.

Even when gathering, Ronaldo is still very disciplined in eating. Former MU defender Patrice Evra was once invited to Ronaldo's house for a meal. He expected a sumptuous meal. But when he arrived, he was quite surprised by the simple meal of salad, chicken breast and water.

“No soda, no fancy food. Everything is very simple and healthy. After eating, he wants to play table tennis and then go swimming. That's when I realized his relaxation is just training,” Evra said.

Ronaldo continues to extend his scoring record despite the burden of age. But through the above story, it can be seen that this is the result of very disciplined and serious training.
