Sharing the reason for choosing the high-quality program in foreign economics at the Foreign Trade University in Ho Chi Minh City, valedictorian Phuc Hao said it was because he had a talent for learning foreign languages, specifically English. In addition, this young man also wanted to understand how the economy works and the relationship between countries.
During his studies at school, Phuc Hao said he had difficulty with subjects that required him to memorize terms and policies such as: international trade, intellectual property, taxes and the tax system in Vietnam, international shipping, international payments, etc.

“To pass these subjects, my method is to systematize knowledge and terms using mind maps. I also try to relate what I learn to real-life situations to understand more deeply and remember longer. At the same time, organizing review sessions and exchanging knowledge with friends is also an effective way to learn,” Phuc Hao said.
In addition to studying, Hao also joined the band The Glam, where he learned to sing and perform on stage. Thanks to that, he was able to practice his confidence when standing in front of a crowd. With the Business and English Club, this student participated in organizing many events, thereby improving his ability to work in a team, communication skills, critical thinking, logic, etc. Actively participating in the movement also gave the young man more opportunities to expand his relationships with people working in the economic field.
“I always pay attention to lectures, take notes, read the textbook in advance, and complete my homework thoroughly. Studying like that, on exam day, I only need to review the key content. In addition, I often study in groups to discuss and share knowledge with friends. About 3 weeks before the exam, I will outline a plan to allocate time and targets for each day. I will stick to the plan to study for the best exam results,” Phuc Hao shared.

Master Tran Thanh Tam, lecturer of economics and law at the Foreign Trade University in Ho Chi Minh City, said: “I started to meet Hao when I was studying international trade transactions. And I also guided Hao in his mid-term internship, a compulsory program for third-year students to have the opportunity to work at a business. This student impressed me with his eagerness to learn and positive attitude. His attendance, mid-term and final grades were a “hat trick” with 3 10s. That is a score that is not easy to achieve in school subjects."
